Lake Arenal although not that easy to utilize is by far one of the most beautiful bodies of water anywhere. The mountains rising above it frame it beautifully and the small towns that surround it offer shopping, restaurants and various activities. Well worth the visit! More

I think is a very good way of transportation between Monteverde and Fortuna, also for boat rides, researches and so much more. It is used for producing energy, so is fine, but there are crocodiles.- More

Such a large lake with amazing views and breathtaking sunsets ... all of course when the weather is right. Totally under utilized in the tourist market... which makes it even more beautiful. We had a delightful boat trip on Lake Arenal from the dam to the Monteverde region. It was pleasant and the scenery was great. More

We traveled across Lake Arenal traveling between Arenal and Monteverde. The boat boarded and delivered us from the shoreline which was interesting. Scenic trip with birds along the shore. There are very bumpy roads to and from the lake though. More

The sunset at the volcano as seen from the lake is breathtaking!!! The lake is warm enough to swim in and very calm. We went on a tour boat (Volcano Lake Adventures out of La Fortuna) and it was seriously the best day of our vacation. It's a MUST SEE if you are in La Fortuna. More
