We took a different trip from the other reviewer. We took the "safari float by raft" on the Peñas Blancas river. It was on a raft and only about a half hour drive fro La Fortuna. This is not a white water rafting trip, in fact you can be pretty lazy and let the guide do most of the paddling.... more

Thought we were actually going to get into Canoes. Family of 5 with teenagers. Terribly disappointed. 3 hour bus ride to river. Many stops along the way to view animals, sloth, toucan, iguanas etc. Small breakfast was served. Then 2 hour slow motor boat tour of river. Saw many birds, caimans, all 3 kinds of monkeys.
