Zoo Ave is a spectacular bird park featuring many of Costa Rica's more interesting bird as well as a few other animals. You walk comfortably along a concrete walkway that meanders through the park. This walkway is lined by fenced areas each containing a different specie of bird in their natural setting. We live in Costa Rica and, when visited... More

What a beautiful zoo. We have never gone to a zoo in Costa Rica until this one since the country is like visiting a zoo at times. We were so glad we stopped here though. We were thrilled with the wide variety of birds, the fabulous plants and trees, and the animals were spectacular. It is a small zoo, but... More

Small quaint zoo, well maintained, nice natural exhibits, good collection of animals and several walking loose with in the zoo. However, they charge foreign visitors twice what the locals pay

If you are near Zoo Ave you should definitely check it out. They rescue animals from all over the country and rehabilitate the ones that can live on their own and use the revenue from the zoo to support the rehabilitation and release efforts. It is a great cause.

We took the public bus to this place. Because it was a rainy day, the place wasn't crowded. So we could take enough time to see all the birds and animals they're keeping there. Zoo Ave rescues, rehabilitates and also breeds endangered species of Costa Rica. They are nursing those animals prior to releasing them to their habitat. It's a... More

Zoo Ave does important work rehabilitating animals, I wish there were more organizations like Zoo Ave in Costa Rica. We had a lovely stroll around Zoo Ave. There are gorgeous birds and many other animals too. My kids like walking around and it was not crowded, so we could really take our time. I do recommend wearing mosquito repellent since... More

Zoo Ave is a place where animals are held prior to releasing them to their habitat. You can see a lot of birds and sloths. It also has a small canopy to watch the animals from the trees.

We went here on our last day in Costa Rica as we were staying nearby for convenience for the airport. We have seen fantastic animals whilst out and about in Costa Rica, from a pair of Quetzals to collared anteaters. However there were a couple of things that we hadnt seen (and weren't likely to see) in the wild. Therefore... More
