On a rainy day we drove up the mountain to coon dog cemetery. Still a nice drive and interesting place. The markers listed the dogs credentials, awards, or other traits. There were some interesting sayings on the markers. Labor day festival every year. Definitely glad to took the time to visit.

What a touching tribute to all the coon dogs buried here. We highly recommend taking the time . Man's best friend laid to rest in a cemetery beautifully decorated with flowers & their owners memories of them.

I'm not really a dog person but you don't need to be to enjoy the coon dog cemetery. This is a rural southern cultural gem that is enjoyed in 30-45 minutes.

This was not a planned stop on our road trip but I'm glad we didn't miss it. The area was beautiful and the perfect place for a coon dog to be laid to rest. It was clean and well cared for and you know all of these dogs were loved and are missed by their families. A great detour I'm... More

Beautiful fall scenery as we traveled to a unique cemetery. Having coon hunted as a teenager, I know the type of person who get so attached to their coon dogs that they would bury them here. It is something that you can't see just anywhere!!

Lovely setting for certified coon dogs only cemetery. Has a covered space for resting or having a picnic. Also has outdoor restrooms. It's free to go and a peaceful place to visit. We took our two Pomeranians and they liked it too. They were very respectful.

We decided to go to the Coon Dog Cemetery while we were visiting the Rattle Snake saloon. There are very few signs and directions on how to get to the cemetery. We got turned around and drove out of the way but we didn't give up. You would be surprised how many people visit this cemetery each day. Each grave... More

Easier to find if you take Hwy 247 (12miles) and another 5miles on Coon Dog Cemetery Road; we came from other end, not so well marked and we almost gave up before eventually arriving. Many years ago-> we came upon the brochure, but never had opportunity to visit. Budget more time and include a visit to Rattlesnake Saloon, as it... More

This was a neat experience. The road going to it is like a roller coaster. We were on motorcycles so we enjoyed that. It's interesting to read the headstones and they have a guest book under the pavilion. There is also a natural spring near by. If you chose to walk to it, it's down a small hill but not... More
