The gardens are beautiful even in the heat of the summer. I especially found the Japanese Gardens to be beautiful and peaceful. We did not tour the home but part of our group did and they all enjoyed it. My complaint is that there are not enough water fountains or shady places to rest. It was extremely hot the day... More

I have lived in the Birmingham area all my life and have always heard about Bellingrath Gardens. I tour places like this when I travel all across the country, but had never been to Bellingrath until this past week! The gardens are meticulously maintained and so beautiful. The house is a time capsule from the same days as my favorite... More

Having lived in Mobile for 15+ years Bellingrath has been a yearly trip whether it be in the spring for the azaleas, the summer for the roses, or the winter for the Christmas lights, The gardens are well maintained year round . Bellingrath holds a very special place in our hearts, 18 years ago my husband proposed to me during... More

The Bellingrath Gardens are simply beautiful any time of the year. The gardens and paths are well maintained with plenty of blooming flowers and plants along the way. The fountains and waterfalls are the best of any I've seen. Pictures do not do justice to how spectacular this place is. I highly recommend going here.

This was our second visit to Bellingrath after visiting about 40 years ago. We toured the home our last time, so we did not tour it again this time. There are always different plants blooming, but when we visited in August there were not as many as there were when we were there in March when the azaleas were spectacular.... More

This park offers many diverse parts, from rosery to rocket garden. The different spots all have a different atmosphere and different landscaping. You can tell that the place had been chosen and developed for and by a dangerously overworked manager in the first half of last century. Don’t run through the park trying to ban every possible perspective on film... More

This is a nice garden to visit. The house is a nice plus to do as well. I would have love the opportunity to take pictures inside the house, but I understand that they want to keep the artifacts as long as possible intact. If you are a mosquito magnet...please be sure to bring your repellant and/or to wear it... More

I have been to many botanical gardens and this one is certainly well maintained with abundant variety. Rose garden is exceptional as were the lilies in the small pools. The home is worth touring, but know that no photography is allowed in the home. Allow a minimum of 2 hours. We spent 4 hours including the home tour (about 30... More

Everyone should experience the Christmas in Lights display. We take our grandchildren every few years because the staff adds/changes the lights. It maybe a little of a long walk for the elderly or small toddlers, but is wheelchair & stroller friendly. Don't miss this. Share it with someone you love.

Visiting Bellingrath Gardens & home was a wonderful experience. You can tour just the gardens (something like 65 acres) or tour the gardens plus the home. Highly recommend doing both. Plan to take your time to stroll & enjoy the greenhouse & the many gardens. The house tour is held each hour & personally conducted by a well informed docent.... More
