I have been to The Gardens 3 times and I could go back again. I always try to go when the azaleas are in bloom. I love to stroll along the pathways and there are so many places for taking splendid photos. The house tour is good. and I loved the Boehm bird display in a separate building.

Best times to visit: March April and December! Amazing flowers, dinner cruise, wildlife! Wheelchair accessible, cold drinks. Visit the cafeteria and gift shop. Take in a whole day of eye-candy!

The Bellingrath Gardens far exceeded my expectations. As part of a roadtrip with my friend we stopped in on our way to New Orleans. We ended up spending the whole day wandering around and sitting in the gardens. We never ended up going into the house/museum but it was well worth the entry fee just to get to wander around.

The gardens are beautiful even in the heat of the summer. I especially found the Japanese Gardens to be beautiful and peaceful. We did not tour the home but part of our group did and they all enjoyed it. My complaint is that there are not enough water fountains or shady places to rest. It was extremely hot the day... More

I have lived in the Birmingham area all my life and have always heard about Bellingrath Gardens. I tour places like this when I travel all across the country, but had never been to Bellingrath until this past week! The gardens are meticulously maintained and so beautiful. The house is a time capsule from the same days as my favorite... More

My wife and I have visited gardens in Maine, on Cape Code, in Georgia, SC, and California. Bellingrath Gardens are as well tended as any we have visited. In summer, lots of annuals are used for maximum color. Azaleas, camellias, and Hydrangeas are everywhere for spring blooms. The property had many artesian springs that have been made into man- made... More

The Bellingrath Gardens are simply beautiful any time of the year. The gardens and paths are well maintained with plenty of blooming flowers and plants along the way. The fountains and waterfalls are the best of any I've seen. Pictures do not do justice to how spectacular this place is. I highly recommend going here.

This was our second visit to Bellingrath after visiting about 40 years ago. We toured the home our last time, so we did not tour it again this time. There are always different plants blooming, but when we visited in August there were not as many as there were when we were there in March when the azaleas were spectacular.... More

This park offers many diverse parts, from rosery to rocket garden. The different spots all have a different atmosphere and different landscaping. You can tell that the place had been chosen and developed for and by a dangerously overworked manager in the first half of last century. Don’t run through the park trying to ban every possible perspective on film... More
