I have visited a few gardens in the south in the past and Bellingrath is my favorite. It is a large property with several lawns, ponds, artesian spring fed water features and all kinds of flowers and plants. The home that was built in 1935 was amazing as were the original furnishings. The tour guide in the home was very... More

This is the place to visit anytime of the year, so beautiful! But, if ever in town during Christmas, it's a must to see then with all the lights!

The gardens are beautiful, it is so well kept & clean. just beware of the spiders. it is such a peaceful walk, and so many beautiful plants, altho in the heat of the summer the roses left a little to be desired. it is a full days walk. the asian gardens are so nice, and the ponds, rivers, lakes, are... We spent two hot humid hours here amongst the beautiful gardens, the swamps and river watching the wild life. We didn't look inside the mansion on site. We were here at the end of July in the height of their summer. I would love to return in their autumn/fall. Good gift shop. Early Coca Cola was responsible for some incredible... More

We went here to view the Christmas light display and we were not disappointed. We got there about 45 minutes before it got dark and I am so glad we did! Were were able to enjoy the beauty of the gardens before it got dark, and there was hardly anyone there. Seeing the lights change the atmosphere was magical. We... More

This was my first visit to the gardens. It was magnificent! Although it was mid summer the flowers were beautiful. The house tour was so cool. It's looks as though they just packed up and went away for the weekend. We will be going back for Christmas to see it wrapped in lights!

Went with a friend of mine who had never been, and four Catholic nuns in pure white long habits who looked like angels, were walking down the path to the Oriental area and with the gorgeous azaleas blooming, the sun shining, the day perfect, she turned to me and said, "have I died and gone to heaven?". That is how... More

What a fabulous way to spend a day. The gardens were so lovely to walk through, even on a 90 degree day, so much shade it hardly bothered us. For sure, tour the home, it's worth the small fee for the knowledge of the tour guide. The tour was chalked full of history and also much romance. I wished I... More

SO awesome, and so many different themes! The colors were great and I especially liked the many displays in and around the lake! I've never seen so many lights. It was so much bigger than I expected so be sure you're in pretty good shape for walking and standing. It was difficult for us to make the entire 'trip' around... More

We had high expectations for Bellingrath Gardens. We went in early June and were somewhat disappointed with the flowers. We could tell that during the azalea season it would be gorgeous. We were also told the Christmas is very beautiful as well. The home tour was exceptional. We enjoyed tour very much. We were the only people on the guided... More
