The garden was in between plantings, so I was a bit dissappointed there, but the grounds and home and the history, were well worth the trip

A beautiful place to walk and hear the audio tour of the gardens. They were in transition planting when we visited and got to talk to the gardeners. It is planted 4 times a year. A lot of work. Took the Home tour and it is spectacular. Bessie had a vision and it didn't disappoint. They came from humble backgrounds... More

Loved our 2 hour stroll through Bellingrath Gardens (we didn't take in the home). Beautiful, roses, orchids, exotic plants. Outstanding landscaping, formal gardens, informal areas, rock gardens, Asian garden. Plenty of beauty and helpful phone-based interpretive tour. Well worth the effort in getting here, 45 minutes out of Mobile. Outstanding value for the $12.50 garden-only ticket.

The gardens are beautiful, the home fascinating, the cafe really good and the gift shop exceptional. It is a bit out of the way, but well with the trip

I have heard about Bellingrath Gardens for many decades and decided to make a trip to see the azaleas. Using the web site, we thought we had timed it perfectly arriving three days after the site said the bloom had occurred and visits should be planned for the next two weeks. Upon arrival, we learned the blooms were almost over... More

Very nice walk through gardens. Well marked paths with signs that will lead you through the whole property. I recommend the house tour as well It is a hidden gem as it is not apparent how large it is from the outside. The water works around the property are really nice sites. It is worth a drive to get to... More

When I went to see Bellingrath, the lights were all up in time for Christmas and the roses were all dead 😔 . I had gotten a deal from the university so thankfully it was not expensive to get in. This area is fun to see when not crowded. It feels quite relaxing. I took family there around Christmas and... More

Azaleas at their peak now. The grounds are immaculately kept. For less than the price of a movie matinee 2 or 3 hours of top drawer escape into a tranquil Eden.

The gardens cover a large territory and each turn of the well-maintained and level paths brings a new vista. Even in March, there were some blooming plants and shrubbery was well maintained. Lots of blooms in the greenhouse. We arrived in time for lunch and had a good meal in the cafe. If you have mobility problems, please note that... More

Even though early March is probably not the best time to visit, we thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the house and gardens. The gardens are extensive and the house was interesting and very intelligently designed. The guide for the house was well-informed and enthusiastic.
