We stopped here to see the track and take a tour. The Motorsports Hall of Fame was excellent and a good deal with the track tour. Our tour guide was very good, although a thick accent. The guided tour of Talladega Superspeedway is worthwhile even if you're not much of a race fan. The facility itself is vast -- I've heard it described as the largest sports venue in the world. Don't know if that's true, but there's seating for 143,000 people, and the infield area alone covers 212 acres. The banking on the turns is... more

Considering the amount of people that go to the races I think that they handle the load pretty well. My husband and I just returned from the UAW 500, and besides getting out of the facility after the race we had a great time. We arrived at Talladega around 8:30am for the 2:00pm race which gave us more than enough... more
