Very cool and hype bar on the Bund. Amazing view. Dress classy or risk to not be allowed in. Entrance 100rmb and expect same price for most cocktails. Good music (electronic not live) and short shows from live performers (pole dancing, podium dancing,...) from time to time during the evening.

Always one of the most beautiful places to party in amazing Shanghai. The rooftop terrace give that amazing view of the city and Pudong you cannot resist. Good drinks, good people, good vibes, even if poor of real Chinese people. But still to visit.

Definitely a must. The bar is located at the rooftop. The mood is cool and relaxed. Have a drink here before having diner a get a feeling of cosmopolitan Shanghai.

Cool bar with great views over the Pudong. We really had a great evening in Bar Rouge with some nice music. Will be back again when in Shanghai!

View is fantastic BUT the quality of the crowd, music, dance shows, gintonic, all are worthless. You do pay 80 RMB for a gintonic which has hardly gin in it :)

To spend a relaxing moment, this is an adequate place, music, preference beverages, a beautiful atmosphere with people from different cultures that come of spending moments of joy - drink a few drinks, a few dance, listen music and have fun.

I went to Shanghai while it was warm, so Bar Rouge was the perfect place to enjoy the summer breeze, a cocktail in hand and a breath-taking view of Shanghai's futuristic skyline all lit-up. Bar Rouge is located on top of a building on the historic Bund, and allows you to witness the bustling city from the top. I went... More

Entrance is 100 rmb, and that doesn't include a drink. Pricelist is like most European high end bars, but the view here is amazing. Bartender charged us double the price so the next two drinks were on the house, good service. Drinks were good, not very classical but more fun and strong than usual. Remember that the Bund turn off... More

A place to go to see and be seen. An amazing view of the city. Good music on the background that allows you to chat and chill out. Cocktails are good and service is international. A good night out!

I have been visiting China since 1995 and made my first visit to Bar Rouge about 8-9 years ago. The bar hasn't changed much over that period of time except today it seems to have many more tourists taking selfies and group shots than locals and Ex-pats. On a Friday night in July when I visited, I was the oldest... More

Staying in The Bund

Neighborhood Profile
The Bund
While there are certainly many other “bunds” in the world, “the Bund” refers to Shanghai’s famous waterfront. The area’s Gothic, Art Deco and Beaux Arts monoliths were built when it was part of the Shanghai International Settlement run by the British and Americans. The atmosphere of colonial-era luxury has endured over time and is now found in the five-star hotels, luxury brand boutiques and expensive restaurants that can be found within the historic buildings. A cultural center has built up away from the water and some of Shanghai’s best art galleries and museums are housed close to the Bund. Nighttime views of Pudong and the rest of the city also make for a great backdrop at the many rooftop clubs.
