Ideal for ladies nights!

Overall, Bar Rouge is an extremely nice bar and has one of the best view of the city of Shanghai. I think its even rated one of the top bars in the world, with that said though. Theres a 100 RMB entrance fee or around 16 USD. Most of the time this fee can be taken off if you get... More

The view of the Shanghai skyline is great. It's a nice place for drinks but the music is too loud for talking, but it's also not really a place for dancing. Bar Rouge is very pricy but they have a ladies night (free drinks) on Thursdays. However, they have a password so you're gonna have to do some Googling or... More

This is probably a quite nice bar, when you can sit on the balcony and see the Shanghai Skyline. In January, though, it is too cold, and inside it is just a regular bar which was very quite yesterday. Since they do not serve coffee, they cannot make an irish coffee, which would have been great. Now, I got a... More

Visited here last year with my wife, amazing views and great drinks, but service was dissapointing. Bar staff chatting away instead of serving customers. Despite this its a must visit for the view of the Bund alone.

Although we had to pay entrance and wait for the cloak room it was worth the visit. The outside area was closed due to rain but we still had a lot of fun. Drinks are not as expensive when you consider the taste and the location. If you want to have a nice night out or a crazy party this... More

I arrived with six others to this shanghai hotspot. We were relative strangers travelling on a tour together and the place was recommended by one of our group. The benefits of travelling this way are new experiences and this was certainly one. We managed to avoid paying the cover charge as we met a hostess in the lift who ushered... More

Free entry and free drinks, can't complain! Full of westerners and tourists, it's no traditional Chinese experience. Warm inside with a small heated outdoor area as well where you can smoke. You'll need the password for ladies night though, do some Googling!

the music was great, dancing fantastic, view marvelous ; as only remark can be said that you better hold on to your drinks - if you put it on the table they clean it up, and you can order again (expensive). but once again, the place is really worth the visit

Staying in The Bund

Neighborhood Profile
The Bund
While there are certainly many other “bunds” in the world, “the Bund” refers to Shanghai’s famous waterfront. The area’s Gothic, Art Deco and Beaux Arts monoliths were built when it was part of the Shanghai International Settlement run by the British and Americans. The atmosphere of colonial-era luxury has endured over time and is now found in the five-star hotels, luxury brand boutiques and expensive restaurants that can be found within the historic buildings. A cultural center has built up away from the water and some of Shanghai’s best art galleries and museums are housed close to the Bund. Nighttime views of Pudong and the rest of the city also make for a great backdrop at the many rooftop clubs.
