My friend and I wandered around Jing'an Park last week, taking in the greenery, the relative peace and the fun of the sculptures, including the ostrich, the urban fox and, appropriately in the lead up to the Melbourne Cup, the field of horses. A group of women rehearsing a dance routine welcomed us to join them, which we did, for... More

OK, OK - I admit I am biased. No! I am infatuated by this tiny tree-lined park, just off Nanjing Road West, opposite the famed Jing'an temple. I stumbled upon Jing'an Park 3 years ago on an early morning walk. Hundreds of people engaged in Tai Chi or many other exercises. I am not Chinese and was certainly conspicuous (I... More

Lovely little garden in the middle of Shanghai, peaceful place to sit and chill in the bustling surroundings outside. No entry fee and it doesn't take long to just walk around. There is a small bar that gets very busy, but you can just get drinks there.

There are not many public parks in Shanghai but this one although small has its attractions. As a business visitor I like this park as it is nestled in amongst shopping centers and hotels. It also sits above a basement shopping area and subway. I have spend many weekends there as it is near to the Shanghai Hilton, Equatorial, Swiss... More

Really nice park just across from the temple, where you can find people dancing and a very lovely little garden.

Jing'an park is only small, however it is beautifully kept and maintained. The flowers are beautiful, the walkways are clean and wide and the pond is very pretty. There does appear to be a small restaurant perched on the end of the pond, which was very busy and also serves just drinks, if you didn't want food. It's free to... More

Just go there when you are tired of sightseeing or shopping. Sit by the lake and just relax or have your favorite beverage or lunch at the Bali restaurant in the park. We saw many people bring their lunch and sitting on a bench. If I worked nearby I would do the same.

I had just a few hours before catching my plane back to the USA and spent an hour at this whimsical and refreshing park ... and oasis in the midst of the city noise. Once there, I wished that I'd had much more time. I wish that I could see it at night. This is a MUST see attraction in... More

Tucked away behind shops and office blocks, but right opposite the Jing'an Temple complex, this is a lovely little park. As with so many other places in China, they seem to pack a lot into a small space. There's a tree-lined central avenue with a couple of covered shelters, a small children's play area, fitness equipment, lawns and lotus pond... More

I have lived in Shanghai 2 years but didn't get to this park until my last week in Shanghai! It was so peaceful and beautiful. However, the grass was blocked off so no one could sit on it or play on it. We just strolled through the park and left. All the shade provided some much needed relief from the... More
