It is unique and comparable to the tradition of the Broadway Musical. It is in fact a stunning acrobatic show combining traditional Chinese arts and modern technologies. The performers present Chinese acrobatics, martial arts and dance perfectly in harmony with the music, sound, lighting, and other special effects, which include a water screen. While you marvel at the highly proficient skills of the performers, the story of China's evolution from its ancient past to the future is told. Hence, the title 'Intersection of Time', as the viewpoint of the audience is set in the present between the past and the future. The performance provides a wonderful insight into China's ancient culture and civilization, with sections about Sinan, an ancient Chinese invention for telling directions, soothsaying and conjuring. There is a fantastic section showing an acrobatic program which has elements performed since the far off days of the Han Dynasty (206BC–220AD). With porcelain jars and vats as their stage properties the performers give an overview of Chinese porcelain culture and greater understand of the country's name of 'China'.Modern achievements that are also showcased include Shanghai Donghai Cross-Sea Bridge, Maglev Train, and Shenzhou 5, China's first manned space mission. From these, you can see the amazing development and bright future of Shanghai and the whole country. The 100-minute performance shows not only artistic skills, but also creativity. Aided by multimedia including vision, original live music, sound effects, smell effect, air conditioning and lighting, « less

Somebody wrote below that this show is a must-see in Shanghai and I completely agree with that. The visual effects are maybe not as sophisticated as Cirque du Soleil but tje acrobatic show is as good. The show duration is 2x 45 minutes and I never got bored. The subway station is just next door so you cannot miss it.

Based on other travelers reviews, my husband and I decided to visit Shanghai Circus World. My average review is not because the performance wasn't impressive-- it was filled with flawless acrobatics, death-defying stunts, and excellent live musicians-- but because it didn't seem unique to Shanghai. By all means, if you love motorcycle stunts and balancing acts, you'll be in awe.... More

I've heard this compared to Cirque du Soleil. I wouldn't say it was that good, but it was enjoyable. Some great acrobatic feats. The kids really enjoyed the show. Pay extra for good seats. We were on the side and much of the show is oriented toward the center of the arena.

I have been to Shanghai many times but never been to this till CNY this year it certainly is worth going to as part of a Shanghai experience, Prime tickets are 600RMB but you can get good view ans feel from the cheaper options 200 or 300RMB. Easy to get Metro line 1 to the Shanghai World Circus stop.

Amazing shows, magic performance. I recommend it! The show is a mix of culture, humour and magic. I had never seen acrobats that good and every second you get amazed by their performance. You should definitely go there if you have time when visiting Shanghai.

The motorbike show at the end is breathtaking. The dancers and the acrobatic in the air make you sit on the edge of your seat. You will be amazed. The strength and elasticity of their bodies is incredible. It's a shame is soooo quick. Worth watching!

Absolutely beautiful, very very very enjoyable. Younger kids will stay entertained all the way through, if they can survive without animals

It is very Cirque du Soleil but as I have seen a few of them - this one held its own for 1/4 the price. Built in a round audience seating for better views. It had enough different acts and kept us on our toes / holding our breath. Its not that long about 1 hour 15 with an intermission... More

This is not your usual circus. No elephants, tigers, etc. Would go back to see it again. Wonderful. Otherwise not realli impressed with the city. Spendmore time in Bejing.
