Very busy attraction, but we really enjoyed strolling around at a leisurely pace taking in the atmosphere and different perspectives of the impressive architecture. A must do.

We wandered in here for a few hours of quite, cool and calm. Very quiet and fascinating landscape architecture. Spend a moment watching the carp being fed, insane. Lots of bugs so use some repellant. Not easy to find by signage in amongst the shops but keep asking people. Spend a good deal of time here but the shops dotted... More

Beautiful garden wasted by Chinese people screaming YAKKITY YAK into their i-phones and paying no attention to the serene beauty around them. Go very early morning.

An old town temple full of lovely food vendors. Very traditional and always very packed on a good day. Steamed dumplings are absolutely great!

Yugarden is an extensive Chinese garden located in the Old City of Shanghai (near the City God Temple). We walked to the Garden from our hotel picking a day where, what appeared to thousand of persons had the same idea. A moving sea of people that occupied almost every space in the 5 hectares of garden and all roads leading... More

Interesting architecture and the gardens are great to see but as others have said it isn't a place to go on weekends or holidays. The crowds are horrendous. The staff in the souvenir shops are also a bit of an issue as some of them are quite "pushy" with trying to sell you something.

Raised door entries, stairs, and cobblestones are beautiful to see, but difficult with a wheelchair. Such a peaceful place. Good to wander around and soak up the atmosphere.

Loved this historic garden. Although it was packed with people we have enjoyed our afternoon exploring the garden and its history. It was not quiet or serene but it was very nice and authentic nonetheless! The markets surrounding the garden only added to our experience. Definitely recommend to visit!
