This was one of the favorite places we visited in Shanghai. The architecture and gardens were lovely. Don't miss this!

Garden is lovely, but to get inside you must get past the throngs of people in Old Town. Worth it! Bring some cookies or crackers to feed the Koi...they are huge, and will swarm I. Front of your eyes...really cool! After, enjoy your time bargaining for the vast array of souvenirs or eat some food from the many stalls. There... More

The garden is small, quiet and tranquil, nestled in the center of the massive sprawling bazaar and surrounding markets. To see a review of the bazaar, check my profile. After getting off metro line 8, follow the English and Chinese signs through the bazaar to the garden. If your wanderings had lead you to dabble in the bazaar, don't worry,... More

We were shown round this oasis of calm in a bustling city by a most knowledgeable local guide. Even in pouring rain it was a truly uplifting experience, very calming

I liked this garden a lot. It was hard to find as the signs for it aren't easy to see- make sure you ask for directions or know exactly where you are going. Once there though it is worth it as the gardens are so tranquil and beautiful. In some areas its a bit annoying as people try to sell... More

In the middle of a great city like Shanghai, a peaceful like place. It was a beautiful and sunny day, so the visit was amazing. The region has many stores and is crowded. Beyong the gardens, the Ming Dinasty architecture is one of the best things there.

This is a peaceful, albeit, rather cramped garden. There are some delightful carvings, and the pools, with their fish attract the attention of small children. This place didn't seem to be quite as crowded with Chinese tourists as some other sites that we visited. A pleasant hour.

Highly recommend this attraction in Shanghai, however suggest you get there very early in the morning as the crowds including locals and tourists build up very quickly. Hard to believe this is such a beautiful serene place when the streets outside are so chaotic.

The Yugarden is a lovely quiet spot adjacent to the Old Town, but within its walls a calm peacefulness exists (even with a constant parade of people and tour groups wandering through it. There are a number of buildings (with limited access) throughout the garden, along with a number of ponds and cool shady places to stop and sit. The... More
