Very clean and convenient, and not as crowded as the metro.
Once you get off its easy to get to the terminals.
it is a fun novelty, but I've taken it once and will take the much less expensive metro for the rest of my trips to Pudong airport.

Loved the maglev experience in Shanghai. Given that I am an engineer, there was this whole history of being enamored by superconductivity, seeing the science programs in school. It was totally worth the extra ticket price to experience it. The train literally starts flying over the tracks, tilts (just a little) to one side to turn and you see all...

413 km per hour, the only one in the world. Must do. Speed is limited to 300 km per hour during certain periods.

Whilst some while argue that this isn't the most convenient (or cheapest) way to get into the centre of Shanghai it is not every day that you get to travel at 431 km/h.
You will need to do your research to ensure that you catch the train when it is scheduled to run at its top speed. Make sure that...

Try it once.
Worth the experience.
I prefer to take a taxi straight from the airport home, but all tourists should try this.

We caught the maglev from the airport to the edge of the metro for the city. It was great to be travelling at 300kph and very smooth. It wasn't obvious that you can get a 20 per cent discount if you show your boarding pass but we happened to see it on a small sign on the way.
My criticism...

Cheap (50 RMB), fastest possible (431 km/h, around 7 minutes trip - some periods of the day slower) and very comfortable way to get to metro station which is then only 2-4 stops from the Pudong district where the most hotels are. First time an attraction, second time simply a must.

The journey took about 7 minutes. Very smooth and steady.
The station was very modern, very clean, very up to date and there was a member of staff shouting out "1 minute before the train pulls away". So we quickened our steps and jumped in.
The train was very clean with wide and comfortable seats and air conditioning. Oh if...
