After moving to the area, we were delighted to find a modern, clean art gallery in the Montgomery area. Maybe I'm jaded, but central Alabama was not a place renowned for its arts culture. So, this free museum was an added benefit to match the hospitality and friendliness of Montgomery. My wife joined a stained glass class after our first... More

I lived in Montgomery, AL for three years (2006 - 2009) and can say that when it comes to culture and the arts, your choices are somewhat limited. The MMFA is a great fine arts museum that only takes a few hours to tour. The museum itself is free (they accept donations) and the range in art varies from classic... More

Growing up near this Museum, I kind of took it for granted that someplace this nice included admission for free. As I've begun traveling across the nation, I've realized that museums this nice rarely don't charge admission. It's a beautiful venue filled with equally beautiful art and they've had some pretty impressive exhibitions and lectures over the years. The children's... More

I love the collection of immigrant american art work and the Cézanne still life on top of the Tiffany glass expo, the view from the glass room was pretty cool and worth it all together.

What a wonderful surprise! We were looking for something to do for a few hours and this fitted the bill. Stunning location, well organized exhibits and delicious lunch in the cafe, too. Highly recommended.

The grounds are peaceful, great selection of art work. It was free, but one can leave a donation. Like how they incorporated out door art work with the windows. Beautiful sunset views.

This place was amazing, and free to boot! Great place to go on a hot Alabama summer day... The artwork was fabulous, the kids section was pretty darn awesome. One really amazing feature of this museum is the stain glass windows and Art works, the museum created for children.

The exterior and grounds are amazing. Once you enter the building there are only a few small rooms. I would still recommend visiting as it is free even if they charged a few dollars. There were at least a handful of art items that were really nice. They have planned expansion of the outdoor walking areas that looks like it... More
