The Alabama Shakespeare Festival is one of several attractions in the larger Blount Cultural Park in Montgomery. The Shakespeare Festival consists of two theaters, the Festival Stage which seats just under 800, and a much more intimate theater, the Octagon, which has four rows of seating on three sides of the stage, putting the smaller audience all within 15 feet... I am repeatedly amazed at the level of performance here at ASF in Montgomery! Rivals Broadway in acting talent, singing, music, costumes, lighting, special effects, & sets! Disney's Little Mermaid & Mary Poppins (year ago) were phenomenal! Actors brought in from across the country to keep superior talent. Shakespeare plays are wonderful too. Annual showing of Dickenson's Christmas Carol changes... More

As always, this production was first-rate. This time was "The Little Mermaid" and it was magical, but I've never been disappointed with anything I have seen at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival. Truly a treasure and right here in Alabama!

I was able to see the show 2 times while visiting Alabama. I have seen a few productions of The Little Mermaid, and this version does not disappointment. My only constructive criticism would be this: Special effects. When I hear a little girl behind me say, nothing happened (when the grotto was destroyed by King Triton) then you know. Also,... More

My husband took me to see "The Little Mermaid." Awesome production! Our visit and trip to ASF was a part of a surprise "date weekend" from my husband. I highly recommend. The actors were phenomenal and I enjoyed it. It was great to see the children (and adults like me) sing along to all of the songs.

World-class Shakespearean productions, and modern productions. One of Alabama's most prized attractions.

The Alabama Shakespeare Festival is one of Montgomery's treasures. Anyone visiting Montgomery should check out their website and get tickets for a play. I have never seen a production here that was anything but excellent. I am looking forward to taking my granddaughter to see The Little Mermaid at the end of July. She is so excited!

Having grown up in Montgomery, I've seen many productions at ASF over the years (most recently a wonderful King Lear), all of which have been impressive. The actors, directors, and scenery are all world-class, and it's quite a benefit to the city to host an atmosphere fostering creativity and culture. The grounds of the park are lovely as well and...
