Another Pleasant Surprise

Larger and more comprehensive than expected for a city this size. It even house a mini train to tour the zoo for those with small children or older worn out knees.

The zoo is really well organized and kid-friendly with a nice variety of animals for a small-city zoo - we were pleasantly surprised.

The Montgomery Zoo is a very nice place. It's smaller in comparison to other zoo's around the world but that's what makes it unique. They house a host of unusual animal. Such as two large ant eatters, wolfs, exotic reptiles, birds and more. The animals are healthy and very clean. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. It's a great outing... More

Very nice smaller zoo. There was a place to feed the giraffe's for $3. That was a nice experience for my 11 year olds. Tip: Don't bother with the train ride unless you are wanting your kids to ride the 'train.' I think we saw one animal exhibit.

Didn't expect it to be this nice. Something small but with a huge impact. Deffinetly worth going and seeing with the entire family or even as a couple. The admissions prices was reasonable and keep the kids excited for hours.

Our family visited Montgomery Zoo during their Christmas Festival of Lights. What a wonderful family outing. The train ride, lazer light show and bucket ride in the sky was memories that our children will remember for years to come. Most of our visits to zoos are during the day. SO getting to walk around and see the animals at night... More

We drove from Knoxville, TN to see the Montgomery Zoo. We had high expectations upon arriving at the zoo. Once in we realized it wasn't what we expected. Tiny enclosures for a lot of the animals (especially the Jaguars). The reptile house was one of the worst we've seen. And all the staff on the carts were flying around and... More

My husband and I were in Montgomery for the day from Atlanta. We decided to visit the zoo to kill a few hours. The admission price was $15.00/per adult and we opted for the $4.00/pp add-on for the SkyLift (which was totally worth it). As luck would have it it was Animal Enrichment Day at the zoo which means toys/treats/games,... More

If your in montgomery this is a really great place to see. I have been to really large zoo's but for a small city this is one of my favorite things to do.
