Mid to small sized zoo, but clean, well presented, and very kid friendly. A much better choice than the Birmingham Zoo even with it being smaller. In reality, the only zoo in Alabama worth the effort. more

We love the Montgomery Zoo and travel often from Georgia to visit it. We choose it regularly over Zoo Atlanta and the Birmingham Zoo. The Montgomery Zoo is very clean, the animals are well cared for, and the habitats are natural but not so large that the animals are hidden from view. Also, the zoo is just the right size... more

Very well kept zoo. The animals seemed happy. They had a lot of baby animals, such as the rhino and the elephant. More animals are coming too. Surely worth a trip to see. more

Given the size of the city and the zoo, I was surprised at how good it was. They had lots of baby animals (rhino), helpful explanations, lots of roaming area for the animals, and some animals not often seen elsewhere (snow leopard). more

I thought this zoo was very clean, the animals (monkeys in particular, especially one named John Paul) were very entertaining. I could have sat there all day just watching them. The animals all look healthy. I love the way they have them all together out on the fields like you are really in the wild. They are not all in... more

Took our 8 year old son during my wife's business trip to Montgomery. The zoo was just OK-although we had visited the St Louis Zoo in May, which is one of the best we have ever visited, which may skew our opinion. We found the zoo to be clean, the animals seem to have good care and most had good... more

MY family and I visted the Montgomery Zoo on July 25 2006, we had a super great time. It was 100 % better then B-Ham Zoo. We are already planning to go back in Oct. The animals were a lot easier to view and they had a lot more room to run in. I have recommened it to everyone. They... more

We visited the Montgomery Zoo during Memorial Day weekend, and I must say it was fantastic! Very clean, not smelly, and a huge variety of animals. We visited Zoo Atlanta a couple of months ago, and it was okay, but we enjoyed Montgomery Zoo much more! In Montgomery, there's lots more open space for the animals to roam, which probably... more

This used to be a really nice zoo, but in the past few years it has really gone down hill. It is actually embarrassing that the reptile house has animals you can buy in pet stores and no venomous snakes. The alligator exhibit is very poor and bordering on cruel. I've seen better exhibits in roadside zoos. How long are... more
