My boyfriend and I went to the planetarium looking for something different to do on a rainy Sunday. $6.50 a person for admission. You can tell the presentation is geared toward education (different than IMAX entertainment, for example). I have seen better planetarium shows but the woman in charge was very knowledgable and we enjoyed learning about meteors in our... More

New digital projector that displays a nice image on the dome. They are still figuring out what is best for showing. They had a few cartoonish characters that displayed and helped explain some of the stars. This has a great potential and is neat if you have never been. Just take time to relax and get out of the heat... More

We went for the grand reopening, we stood in line for quite sometime 20-30 min we saw no signage for pricing or show times( I doubt they're usually so crowded )before someone was kind enough to inform us the tickets were available inside the "gift shop" which is actually a small counter full of arcade prizes..I believe the newly renovated... The operator told us they had just undergone a renovation, well it looked as if clowns had painted the walls around the gift shop. The "new" projector was not in focus at all during the movie portion of the presentation. The actual speech portion was but we couldn't hear the presenter very well. I would skip this event if it... You have to hit this place just right. Sunday afternoon is about the only time we ever seem to make it. Compared to some other planetariums we've visited, it's unfortunately on the sub-par side. I'd like to give it another run after it reopens, provided they repeal Junior's Lifetime Ban. Poor guy was not prepared for total darkness, I guess.... More

The whole time we were watching the show I wanted to yell "focus!" This might have been cool 20 years ago, but now it's just kinda sad. I don't think we'll go back unless I hear they've made some upgrades.

we brought our teenager here...it was educational, but more for smaller kids. the planetarium is also surrounded by a park, so it's a great afternoon place to also have a picnic or go for a run.

Only planetarium in central Alabama; great place to take kids on hot summer days.

It's a neat little place. And as stated in an earlier review is under funded sadly. I think it would be a much nicer much cooler place it the state cared about it. Definitely check it out if you have the time!

This is one of the many places in Montgomery that get very little monetary funds. Consequently it's small but worth seeing. It's located in one of Montgomery's oldest parks in the middle of the city.
