Safer and more family friendly. Many families end up in Bienville Square, which is a great place to catch the parades at multiple places since most turn and go around the Square. Moon pies, beads, cups, stuffed animals! Great experience for everybody. If you have an RV, they have a park where you can rent a spot. Can really get... More

If you have never been you should find time and go. All classes of people from all walks of life standing on the street hoping to get something from a passing float. They come up with new stuff to throw every year, this year was single serve breakfast bowls. I go every year and always have a blast.

What a wonderful group experience on our Gulf Coast Discovery trip! A great place to explore! The museum opened up special for our group on that Thursday!

For mardi gras you want to come to Mobile if you have kids or are concerned about your safety. Enough said. Colorful, exciting, and just fun to watch even if you are not catching beads or MOON PIES! Definitely the way to enjoy a full day of clean, fun, safe festivities. Bring your sunscreen!

While we are not "party people", we thoroughly enjoyed our 4 days of Mardi Gras. The parades run during the day and into the early evening with excellent crowd control and no issues arising. The majority of parade goers are families and people for the most part were polite and considerate with little crowding or bunching. The highlight of the... More

The kids reveled in parade after parade, and everybody at restaurants and hotels was friendly and helpful. A really great time.

We loved the parades, the beads, the balls, the parties, the jambalaya, the shrimp creole. The crowds were fun. it was terrific to ignore real life and responsibilities for a couple days.
