Our family has been attending the Mobile mardi gras since the 1980's. The annual city-wide celebration is something we look forward to every year. The parades are spectacular and the crowds are somewhat less "rowdy" than New Orleans. The society balls are an extravagant affair. Mobile is the birthplace of Mardi Gras.

It's family friendly but also allows adults to have a great time if they don't have kids or don't have kids with them. The only issue is after the parades when they put the barricades back they should allow people a few more minutes top get out of the way

While is isnt as trashy as New Orleans there still are some shady people walking around. Overall its just a parade, unhealthy food, and people wanting to party. Not saying its bad, but its nothing id ever go back to.

We have it all. It's great for family's a nice clean safe environment. Most of the time the weather is great and the... More

While we didn't have a bad time, this is pretty much just another parade. It wasn't that long of a parade and the costumes were not that ornate. We would recommend Mobile as a destination but not necessarily because of Mardi Gras.

Had a great time partying at "the garage" a bar in downtown. Despite the fact the it was raining that did not stop a thing! The parade did not miss a beat! Everyone was so friendly and having a great time. There was so much stuff thrown there wasn't even enough people to catch it all lol I left with... More
