While the second floor was under renovation, the ground floor exhibits were very interesting and tastefully displayed to avoid overwhelming the visitor. The special Charles Smith pottery exhibit was exquisite. There is a wonderful children's art school and an auditorium for art talks. All in all, it is well worth a visit when in Mobile. Thursdays there is no entrance... More

Half of the museum was closed for renovation. The education area was also closed. The collection was nice, but not what we expected out of Mobile. There was a beautiful view of the lake beyond some window shades, but the shades were closed. The facility was extremely cold. It took a few hours, so a descent cultural time filler on... More

The Museum is just awesome, lots to see. We have for an artist opening where we have pieces from out collection in the show. Great turn out. If you have art, this is a great place to take the family.

We loved all of the Art. What was best was the surprise of being admitted for free. I wish they had more art, the building is huge but it doesn't have enough art to fill even the first floor.

Our senior group visited this museum in April, 2015. We had a volunteer guide who took us to all of the areas in the museum. There was a fantastic traveling exhibit of Mardi Gras costumes and all the crowns and jewelry that goes along with Mardi Gras. We were there for an hour and a half and we could have... More

I'm not really an art person...I walked through the art exhibit once and it was nice, but not something I was rushing back to see again. My mom's group would meet about once a month in the kid area. They had building blocks and coloring areas. The markers were always dried out, and they "computers" would never turn on. But... More

Thanks so much for letting us know! Calling ahead for the kid's area is definitely a great idea. Sometimes we are short-staffed in that area, but we will certainly take steps to remedy any sort of persnicketiness in this area as well. We hope you will come back and visit! More

A great eclectic collection, especially for a "smaller" art museum. The layout was great, and the pieces they had were very interesting. One disappointment is the lack of a map/info about pieces. I enjoyed the pieces on display, but wish the museum had more information about them available.

Thanks so much for your feedback! Since we have been reinstalling our exhibitions and rebranding our museum this year, we have overhauled our outdated printed map and info. Hopefully, we will be able to have some maps and gallery guides by the year's end when we have finished our remodel. We hope you will come back and visit! More

I like to go here alone and just take in all the art. I envy those with such talent. This is a very neat place to stroll around and admire the talent. Make sure you allow at least two hours to really get to see and get info on everything

We were late arriving. They close at 5p on Saturday. We had 2 hours to spend. We chose to start with the permanent collections first. Then we went upstairs to see the special attraction about Mardi Gras. It was very interesting but I wish they'd had someone who could answer questions about the traditions behind the Mardis Gras customs. Overall,... More
