In the early 1900s, the Bay produced over 19 millions pounds of oysters. Now, it produces nothing because of the pollution. The sight of the Bay from the USS Alabama Battleship is unimpressive; however, the site from the "Lookout", which is east of the Bay just inside Escambia county, is pretty nice. The entire surroundings of the bay and the old town of Mobile were beautiful. There is much to see and do, great food to eat, historic sites to explore and pleasant activities in which to participate.

this was a pleasant surprise and watching the sunset from Dauphin Island was beautiful! We took a Dolphin tour and enjoyed it immensely; lots of dolphins in the bay and the tour guides were very patient and well-informed

This Bay is a different kind of beautiful, it is a calm, peaceful beauty. Take a guided fishing trip up the delta and catch some big ole bass or jump aboard an air boat for a moonlight cruise to see the gators...restaurants dot the causeway, and offer fresh gulf seafood and warm long sunsets!

Be sure and visit the Fairhope area . You can rent a house on the bay. Drop a crab line and catch a few for a try at making gumbo!!! The Grand Hotel is a nice visit on the bay too.

Mobile Bay is an incredible gateway to the Delta, a bird sanctuary, and boating, fishing, and kayaking. It shows many different moods depending on time of day, weather conditions, and the tides. There is also great access to Mobile Bay from Dauphin Island and its GREAT beaches. Conditions are almost always great. In the late autumn to late Spring you... More
