Really interesting houses, and the docents have great stories about the houses, former occupants, furnishings, etc. Everyone was so amazingly friendly! Great way to spend an hour or two.

The admission charge for this house was on the high side - $10 a person. There was a house on the property that had been owned by a mason - a middle income man. Although not rich, he did put some interesting touches in his 4-room home that housed 11 children. Next door was the Oakleigh Manor, owned by a... More

Step back in time with your personal tour with a lovely Southern Belle complete with her hoop skirt. We learned a lot about the families that lived in the beautiful home.

My wife and I love old homes and Oakleigh was no exception. What made it even more enjoyable was that our guide had a deep love for Oakleigh, and in fact all of Mobile, history. She was full of facts and interesting stories of the people and times significant to Oakleigh. What started out as a tour of a grand... More

The house itself is interesting and is also filled with nice treasures to see. The tour guide is informative and interesting. She was able to answer all our questions. It is a one hour tour that is well worth it!

House was a interesting and pleasant change from the bustle of modern life. The tour guide was pleasant and friendly. Her knowledge brought the history of the house alive. The furniture was from the period. The house gives you a glimpse into the past and way of life of the old south.

We picked up a brochure from the Alabama Welcome Center about the Oakleigh House. My husband and I LOVE to tour historical homes everywhere we go and this one was fantastic. The tour guide brought the house to life with her many stories about the lives of the people who had played a part in its history. The furniture and... More
