Lots of clubs on the street, and a few stores as well. A bit of the 50s in downtown. Easy walking, a couple of small parks for sitting.

I'm sure city fathers and the many business people that are involved with Dauphin street put the ideas of this together, they I visioned a fun bar / restaurant / and attraction area. It hasn't worked yet! Many empty buildings and bars and restaurants for sale. Really, it's not worth your time!

Nice trendy downtown area with great restaurants and pubs. It has a little square/park to sit in and feed birds and squirrels. If you have a chance check out the big old church, its very interesting and old.

Nice for a 15 minutes walk, back and forth. But not the place for shopping or anything; a few bars and restaurants only. But truth is that the walk is nice as the buildings are historic and accompanies you all they way.

Understandably the restaurant is busy because it's very popular with locals and the food is great, affordable with a wide ranging menu. It's a local landmark and the walls are adorned with lots of memorabilia and funny jokes. Don't miss it if you want some casual and lively dining on a very quiet side street in Mobile.

This is a (very) poor man's Bourbon Street. While it is the liveliest street in downtown Mobile, it has a long way to go to before it catches its Louisiana rival. About 1/2 of the store fronts remain vacant and the restaurants are no better than fair.

I love walking around downtown, a blend of southern charm and creole flavor. The parks are clean and inviting and a great variety of shops to browse around as well as several fine places to grab a bite.

Was pretty disappointed in this area - it had virtually no shopping - we did eat down here and it was just a sports bar - okay food...name escapes me.

Lots of interesting sites to see and stores to peruse! Really enjoyed all of the post-Mardi Gras decorations.

The area is not what it once was but has some great eateries and is an easy walk from the Battle House Renaissance! Particularly I highly recommend Wentzells Oyster House! Some real quaint shops, hope it can fill its buildings once again! Unlike New Orleans this area was very safe!
