This is a place that I would never visit unless I was staying in town or driving through. Its kinda sketchy looking at night, few bars and stuff, but nothing you cant see at any downtown. I would classify it as boring but semi pretty in day, but thats just my opinion.

After hopping the bus at the fort we got off at one of the stops along Dauphin St. and walked around. Was disappointed that there was not more stores to shop but the economy shows. There were several neat eclectic shops to look for souvenirs Just wish there were more. Don't miss going into the chapel and grab a pizza... More

Dauphin Street is a very neat link from the suburbs of west Mobile all the way to the docks of Downtown Mobile. When headed downtown, catch Wintzell's Restaurant for some very good seafood and Bienville Square for a walk around the block. Of course, hit the Candy Shoppe for some peanuts to feed the squirrels in the Square...

This is a funs street with great bars and restaurants. The street is lined with historic building with cast iron balconies. Along the street are many hole in the wall bars, restaurants, and two urban parks. One with a large cast iron fountain surrounded by live oaks and memorials. Reminiscent of the squares in Savannah. The other was an urban... More

Dauphin Street is a neat little place to see. There are plenty of places to eat and shop at. The peanuts are fantastic. I do not have to tell you where they are, just smell. you will find them. There was an art walk and farmers market while we were there. We stayed downtown so we never had to get... More

the service was okay but servings were very large and well prepared. It was an easy walk from the hotel. We would return.

Dauphin Street is picking up again. I ate lunch there recently, and sat outside across from Cathedral Square. Lots of art places to go in, lots of sandwich shops, and also recently watched a movie in the Crescent Theater - fantastic place! Cool antique/thrift shop one block away. Neat area to wander around on a Sunday afternoon.

If you get a chance, the visitors center offers a historal walking pamphlet on the downtown area. Dauphin Street has many many buildings with historical significants. The restaurants have outdoor seating allowing you to absorb the ambience of the old South.

Sooo many empty storefronts. Need a bead store for Mardi Gras, a souvenir shop for tee-shirts and magnets/coffee cups, and a quick place to grab a sandwich. Book store at end of block was only store with "life" in it.
