Its not the fountain itself is beautiful. .its the surrounding atmosphere specially at dawn when the burds start singing around the fountain near church and lights starts at a slight red dark wave

Lots of these colorful trishaws parked near the Queen Victoria Fountain and Christ Church. They are as much of a "sight" as the architecture. Reviewing the history of this location gives an insight into local history. These pink brick buildings were very interesting.

Not a fan of history and don't really know the story behind this fountain. However, looking at it was exciting, just as if it was there at the right moment and the right place. Standing there brings me back to the Trafalgar square in the UK. A lot of activities going on there with lots of people taking photos. By... More

This old fountain is the centre piece of the old Dutch Square. It is a fountain erected in memory of Queen Victoria and it was erected in 1904. It is surrounded by the old Dutch buildings in the square, as well as some tacky souvenir stalls :). This is also the meeting place for all the rickshaw drivers in Melaka.... More

Beautiful site and well maintained. Mostly original brickwork, I believe, and still retains plenty of old world charm. Don't expect too much (its solely a fountain) but the workmanship was beautiful to see. Very popular spot for tourist photos, so be patient when lining up for a photo!

1. Queen Victoria's Fountain is in the heart of the Dutch Square of the historic city of Melaka. From here, you can walk to many of the other historical sites (The Stadthuys Malacca, Christ Church, the Tan Beng Siew Clock Tower, Middlesburg Fort, etc), tourist spots (Jonker Street, Maritime Museum, etc), and malls. 2. The Tourist Information Centre (beside the... More

You can't miss the Queen Victoria's fountain as it's situated in the middle of Dutch Square. A throwback to the days of Empire but it has been very well preserved and provides a good photo opportunity. The inscription reads " Victoria Regina 1837- 1901. Erected by the people of Malacca in memory of a great Queen 1904." Get there early... More

Britain's longest reigning monarch's commemorative tribute is indeed a sight to behold. Impresive, majestic, historical. The prized backdrop for many pictures. A throw back to the Pommies' glory days of Empire & Crown when colonies, incuding those in the Straits Settlements, were thought to be forever Engand's. Fortunately, the elegant, ornamentally decorated 100 yr old fountain is preserved and maintained,... More

Very nice old fountain which is just in the middle of the Dutch Square. A lot of people come here and this is just beside the Christ Church and Old Clock.

The Queen Victoria's Fountain is another colonial relic which can be seen in the Dutch Square in the city center of Malacca. Built in 1904, in celebration of Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee and made of British marble, it is an interesting structure to see when exploring Malacca. While not an elegant masterpiece compared to many statues and fountains you may... More
