Malacca river has been cleaned up over the past few years and is now an enjoyable area to visit. There are boats which cruise up and down and it's an easy way to see part of Malacca. Some of the buildings are historical and interesting to look at; others have had murals painted on their walls and really brighten the... More

The only reason it doesn't get a 5 is because the river is dirty. Very pretty scenery along the river, and an adequate oration one way of the sights. In Melaka, everything is so reasonably priced this is a nice way to sit and rest out of the sun and enjoy the scenery along the river. We did it during... More

The Malacca river is strewn with history dating back to the grandiose days of the influential and powerful empire of the "Melaka Malay Sultanate" which led to merchant world-over to come to trade and commerce, which incredibly led Portuguese historian, Tomes Pires to name the state as 'Venice of the East' However today it serves only as a rich reminder... Nice river walk for as long as you want. Some run down area,s along the walk but this was all part of the culture. Seen a few birds and large lizards as we walked. They are continuing in the walk further up the river which when finished looks like it will be lovely. We walked from Jonker street to Tesco... More

we can think of. Beautiful painted houses. We took hundreds of pictures. The tour will pass all the churches, the oldest Kampong and many interesting places. It is a must to do it!

This is one of the few sight-seeing activities that you can do in Malacca city. The leisurely cruise is a great and affordable way to see the city. I did a little video: http://youtu.be/6E8hlXEdHsU The queue can get a little crazy over the weekend with the crowds though... it's extremely hot in the afternoon, so do have an umbrella/hat with... We took the night cruise and the lights on the bridges and building were great. Sorry we didn't have time to do the day cruise as well. You get to see the city from another perspective and they are some things you may want to back to. 2 days in Melaka isn't enough!

The town itself is just starting to embrace tourism. The riverway is all but still, and has a tendency to smell a bit in the afternoons. There is not much along it to see, though it is nice to walk for a bit.

The river tour was really nice and gave a good idea of Malacca. Nicely done--no frills tour but was interesting
