Considering the rich history of Melaka, this street is very disappointing, both from whats on offer to the architectural aspect. Is nowhere near as good and as interesting as George Town in Penang.

Basically it makes what is a great little town seem like a tourist trap. The streets around are just as pretty and interesting.

There are so many beautiful items to purchase and its probably the best place if your are looking for Melacca's souvenirs. At night time is the best as its open until midnight (:

After touring across the heritage sites through the day, visit this place in the evening for grabbing some local food and getting something back for your friends/relatives. This is a bright and throbbing place on Fridays and Saturdays, and the shops/eateries are open till late at night. Board a "trishaw" while returning back, which itself is a treat, with the... More

The food is one thing which you get customers... More

Although it is super-crowded, I like the place very much. During my visit, I had some of the local dishes (Nyonya Cuisine was one of them). I also had the chance to sing on stage in one of the night bars there. It was a memorable experience indeed. There were some sculptures, such as dragon and rabbit sculptures (they represent... More

Just over a two hour drive from downtown Johor. But well worth a visit. Arrive early because parking spaces are hard to find. One day really is not enough if you like browsing. Especially if your into antiquities. Plenty of shop selling Chinese art and crafts. Street stalls have plenty of Chinese branded designer goods, in particular sunglasses!! Plenty of... More

Busy, through traffic (no not great for strollers). Lots of interesting shops in amongst the toursity stuff. Clean - no smoking zone. Good smells and sights!
