The climb up the stairs through tropical vegeation was worth it for the contrast of the stones and sad grave stones through to the view over the straits.

St Paul's hill, the remnants of both the church at the top, the cemetery about half way up & the fort at the bottom tell a fascinating story of Penang. Serendipitously, we wandered into a small interpretive museum at the bottom of the hill (mainly in to get the kids into some air-con on a stinking hot day & get... More

The busker in the church ruins adds some atmosphere and there are some old graves to look at. You can see out to the sea from here.

The only place you can act visit is the ruins at the top of quite a steep climb. Lots of interesting stone tablets.Take plenty of water. After about 10 am lots of traders with small souvenir stalls and some drinks arrive. The views of the Malacca straits are good on a clear day

If you like historical places, this is a good place to start in Melaka. It is quite windy up there and some nice photo shots may be taken there too.

Before the trip, I was afraid my parents won't have enough energy to walk up to the top of the hill. But guess what, despite of the sweat, they were really happy to walk up. I was really proud of them, and yes, the view from the top just amazing. Too bad the sky was blurred by smoke, so the... More

You have to climb quite a few stairs, but when you reach the top you can look around the ruins of the old church and get a good view of Malacca. Have a chat with some of the stall owners and artists on the way up and down... They are lovely, aren't pushy about selling things and can give you... More

Visited the hill as part of the Dutch Heritage trail using the Melaka Street Map. Nice views at the top! Taking time to read the background and history on the erected boards was good and very helpful.

Liked: The view of Melaka from the hill. Disliked: 1>The steps to the hill is tiresome(Take water with you if needed) 2>The church is all shattered. Just the walls remain and the tomb.Nothing else to be seen.
