This "Fort" lighthouse is a small piece of the history of Goa - when the Portuguese ruled the state. Not one of the best maintained historical monuments, but worth a visit once. The drive to the fort is scenic; and takes you through the forested hillock, with the sea by the side. Beautiful views of the valley and the sea... More

A must visit while in Goa. Be prepared for walking & step-climbing a bit. Not suitable for Old People or for others to whom walking is a difficulty. Remember to take drinking water with you while visiting this Place. Take time to read all that is displayed in this Monument so as to really understand the History of this place.

Views magnificent and both fort and lighthouse very interesting . Boards telling you of other forts and full information re Aguada fort . Free entry too. Go early though as it gets... More

Fort Aguada is a must visit when you are in Goa. The walk upto the fort is a long one and there is a definite lack of signs helping tourists. But there are always people around so you can just follow the crowd. Recommend a guide if you are interested in its history.

there is 78 steps from the ground floor to the top... and then a steep step ladder upto the terrace surrounding the lighthouse... From the terrace... the view of Goa extends upto Churchsquare.... you see Goa with the green cover and a length of the Candolim/ Calungute beaches.... also a view of the old lighthouse, which was functional till 1976,... The Ford is quite a spectacle and it gives a nice view of the water, however, avoid going there in the afternoon as it gets very hot and there is no shade. Best time to visit would be early in the morning or in the evening. The Ford also had jail cells inside which is on the lower level. Also... More
