nice historic place

nice place with beach view. But be careful if travelling on two wheeler. there are Hyneas (wild animals) which look like dogs. Do not visit after 6 PM.

don't waste your time here as there is nothing much to do here. A better option would be to go to Sinquerim beach which is super awesome. Travel behind the fort if possible as you can get to see a better view from here!

Would recommend you head here early in the morning or in the evening. Carry a bottle of water, apply lots of sunscreen & take appropriate hats/sunshades to protect against the harsh sunlight. There are stalls outside selling hats among other things for the shopaholics out there.

The fort has a fantastic view of Panjim and the sea. One can read the history of the fort, it is well explained. A good visit for history buffs.

The fort was really nice to visit once in a goa trip. And view from the fort was also amazing clear blue sea and ships looking as tiny objects. The scenic points where DCH movie(hindi) was shot .One path inside fort is very narrow to reach above famous point.Avoid climbing by that point and take a longer route.

It was our last day and I wanted to see this last tourist spot but it was too late. We had bikes with us so we traveled towards the light house on the small hillock where it is located. The roads were pitch black and silent as a cemetery and around the 1/3rd point we contemplated going back. It was... More

The Agauda fort has a four storey Portuguese lighthouse, the oldest of its kind in Asia, the lighthouse is situated inside the fortress and looks down over the vast expanse of sea, sand and palm trees of Calangute Beach on one side.People are not allowed to go up on light house.Today it stands just so that tourists can come and... We climbed uphill on the road and it took us nearly an hour to reach the Lighthouse from Candolim beach. The views from the Fort are great, but we didn't know that the Fort closes at 5:30pm. So, we could stay there only for 30 minutes. There is not much to do there except stand and stare at the horizon.... More
