Great place on top of the mountain to hike, bike, cook out, play ball, take the kids or someone you want to hang out with. I have enjoyed this mountain since I was a teenager. Go ahead make some memories - this is the place to do it.

We visited the park on a very hot day so we weren't able to fully enjoy, but the views are spectacular, the facilities nice and hiking trails great. Great place for a picnic or to bring your family.

We stayed one night at campground. Campground is nice, clean and quite as well. We did not get a chance to check around but heard that the park have hiking and bicycle trails more than 15 miles.

I did the north and south loop in the Monte Sano state park and was pleasantly surprised how much this relatively little state park has to offer. Personally I thought that the 3.5 mile south loop was nice but the North loop was for sure more entertaining and little bit more challenging. Saw plenty of people spending time together around... Great park for hiking. But there is no water activity or horse back riding. Nice clean simple cabins to stay in. They seem expensive but it is close to Huntsville and other activities to enjoy.

It is nice to have a state park so close. A little exercise and a beautiful view go a long way to releasing stress. Some trails are more difficult than others. Some are fine for a stroller.

Great secluded forrest less than a half hour outside of Huntsville! Some great views and plenty of cleared trails for hiking. Lots of mountain biking options as well, though I didn't ride. There is a fee for admission, but it's cheap, $6 I think.

Stayed here in our RV and found it quiet and clean. Level camp site. It is up on top of the mountain so the views were awesome of course. The road going up the mountain is challenging with some great turns. Watch out for bikers!
