Took our family, grown children, for a day trip. We all enjoyed the trails. They were a bit muddy due to rain the day before but that didn't slow us or others down.

Historic campsite above Huntsville Alabama in the mountain. Campsites, nature trails, vistas, and a lodge for a special event setting and catering.

The trails are marked well and easy to navigate. We enjoy the land trust trails which are not at the top.

Great place to go and spend the day doing a lot of outdoor activities or nothing at all. Nice that it is so close to everything.

The park costs $5 per person. That seems high considering it is in an urban area and does not offer much beyond open areas and trails. Not that trails and open areas are not important, but there are ample other nearby places that offer the same experience for free. As we walked around the park, the staff and volunteers were... We were on a quick New Years road trip and took a 'first day hike' along the Fire Tower Trail in Monte Sano State Park. Great views of the mountains and valley, well kept and just right for a leisurely hike. Not very crowded on Jan 1 but everyone we encountered was very nice. Would definitely go again to explore... Well maintained and accessible state park with great trails for hiking and mountain biking for all skill and fitness levels. Low price of admission, good parking and well maintained facilities throughout the park. If you're staying over the weekend, be sure to pack in your supplies as the convenience store is not well stocked. The park rangers and attendants are... More

My daughter just got married here 12/12/15. This was a perfect size venue to accommodate about 130 people and plenty of rooms to set up dining tables, dance floor and photo booth. The ceremony took place outside where the view overlooks the mountain. We were afraid what the weather might be in December but had a sunny 72 degrees that... More
