Family history

I loved it, but tyat might be because my dad's family grew up there, grafting fruit trees at the nursery.

The North Alabama Railroad Museum is a volunteer run organization and they do a great job. Tickets do usually need to be bought in advance which you can do from their website. The rides are fun, especially for kids. Extra special rides include picking pumpkins, seeing the Easter Bunny or meeting Santa! Since this is run by volunteers and donations,... More

Thank you so much for your review, and for noticing our efforts. Yes, the seats are reserved, so we always recommend that tickets are ordered in advance (especially for our Santa Train, and tickets are presently available !). It's very easy to do now, you can go to our website (sorry, they rejected the link when I put it in),... More

I took my son and grandson on the Father's Day Ride conducted by the Museum and found it some what disappointing. Don't get me wrong, you properly get a kick out of it if you are a train enthusiast. But for an average person, even with a three years old boy that love everything and anything about train, it is... More

We appreciate you riding our Father's Day Train, but we are sorry you were disappointed. You did say you got a proper kick out of it, the passengers cars were comfortable, and the people running the train were friendly. And best of all, a three year old enjoyed anything and everything about trains, so it does sound like it was... More

If you're imagining a long or even semi-long ride to a big open field with pumpkins everywhere, you will be disappointed. I brought my ten-year-olds, while they enjoyed it, they were a bit too old. We enjoyed watching the little kids get a kick out of it for sure. The train ride is pretty short and when it ends you... More

We paid 15 bucks per person today to ride the train for about 35 minutes. The price included an extra 5 dollars for the kids because they got to select a pumpkin to keep from a field where pre-harvested pumpkins were placed just off the railroad tracks. We've ridden a few of these old historic trains before and this experience... More

The gentleman that was taking us through took the time to answer all out questions. If he didn't know the answer, he didn't mind saying so. He wasn't in a big hurry to get us through like a herd of cattle. He sincerely wanted us to enjoy our visit. And we did.

Went there on a beautiful Saturday afternoon and no one was there. Lot of rolling stock to look at but nothing else.

I don't know of any child that doesn't like trains. It is a hands on place that our grandchildren have loved to visit. It is a little way off the beaten path.
