Nice Little Escape

Although it isn't as large as the Botanical Gardens, Aldridge Gardens is a nice place to retreat and escape the hustle and bustle with decent scenery.

I have been here many times with visitors and the Frank Fleming rabbit and turtle is a delight for photographers especially with children. The many acres provide walking trails and beautiful plants and trees carefully marked. Hoover is proud of the new botanical gardens and more expansion is planned.

My kids beg to go to Aldridge each time we visit Hoover! They love to feed the turtles, fish and ducks. The place is simply beautiful and after 3 years of visiting, we still haven't seen it all! So far, my favorite area, besides watching my kids in the boathouse feeding the fish, is the hydrangea garden near the entrance.... More

Beautiful grounds and nice retreat from the busy atmosphere of Hoover. I recommend visiting when hydrangeas are blooming. It is breathtaking.

In the 70's, I lived in the apartments bordering the Aldridge estate. It was privately owned, but that didn't stop us from sneaking over the fence regularly for "recreational activities". So strange, therefore, to visit with family in tow so many years later. The estate was bequeathed to the city of Hoover, and is a lovely "nature pause" amidst the... More

If you around Hoover, please take some time and enjoy the beauty of this beautiful place. Can stroll around the pond, walk pretty alleys in park decorated with cute statues, or just enjoy beauty of surroundings sitting on one of many benches. It was delightful couple of hours well spent time.

Hoover, Alabama is a bustling city of 80,000 inhabitants, and 44 square miles of territory. Within the City limits are numerous apartment complexes, single-family homes, and condominiums on a vast economic scale continuum. At times during rush hours, traffic can get intense and stress can build. There are many ways Hoover citizens can unwind from the daily grind, but few... More

Need an hour away from the busy-ness? Take a walk, sit on a bench, admire the beauty or have a picnic lunch. Nice place for a break. Great art shows, plant sales, wedding venue, etc. also. Treat yourself!! 😎🌿🌺🌻🍁🍃🌾

Great gardens, soothing place to walk, think, take photos. I've had a party in the pavillion, been to art events in the main house, and walk often on the paths through the gardens. So happy to have this little gem in my " neighborhood"!

Perfect place to stroll, take photos and meditate. It does not matter how young or old you are this city oasis will be a place you will want to go again and again. There is no entry fee and plenty of parking.
