Rented poles for $11 each and bought some bait and were off. Beware the bathrooms are gross, especially for kids. The locals will run you away if they think you're in "their spot". Overall a good experience for us. Saw a few guys catch sharks, although they pull them in and snap photos and cut lines. Mosquito spray is a... More

So, we went to the pier on one of our excursions. It was a warm day. We had to pay to walk the pier. So after going in, many people were fishing, nice place for it. But there were guts everywhere, along rails and on the gutting stations. I did not enjoy it.

We walked to the pier one morning from our condo. Enjoyed the view, cool breezes and watching the variety of fisherman cast from the dock. There are signs posted along the dock, explaining the types of fish and wildlife found around the area. Even enjoyed a bird sitting in the middle of the pier waiting for the smaller fish to... More

I went here with my Grand -son-in Law and watched him fish half the night, it was cool and refreshing ! I was able to watch people catch all types fish and also flounder along the coast line! The pier has a concession for getting bait and drinks and snacks, with someone on duty all night! It is wheel chair accessible and... More

Great place to fish or just walk and watch everyone else catching fish. You also can see wild dolphins chasing and catching fish as well. Nice place to take the kids.

Great place to visit even if you aren't fishing. It's fun to walk along the pier and see what other people are catching and have caught from sharks to rays to anything you can think of. Lots of pelicans and other seabird antics to enjoy. There is also a restaurant on the pier where you can get bbq, ice cream,... More

I'm not a fisherman obviously, but a lot of people recommended going to the pier. The cost to get in per person is $2. Not sure about children, but mine got in free (under 1 year old). Oh by the way, here's a tip. If you plan on going multiple times, ask the cashier about the $3 pass. Basically for... More

While my husband and daughter were on a fishing trip, I took my preschooler for a walk down the beach to the pier. We stayed at Royal Palms, which borders the state park beach and pier. It was a nice walk and my son loved sightseeing off the pier. It seemed to be very nice and well kept. There were... More

Although you have to get a fishing license, and pay to get out onto the pier, the group had a successful fishing day. Was fun to do once. Great views from the pier back to the beach. Could see all sorts of fish and sharks swimming around the pier.
