Yes, there is a $2 charge per person to go out on the pier. It's a small price to pay for the beautiful views. It was nice to stand at the end of the pier and watch the waves come in. My husband talked to the fishermen and received some good fishing tips.

Not at all impressed with this pier. Went to do a little fishing with my son and the fee was $8.00 per person to fish. This I can understand. It does cost to keep the pier up. But $2.00 per person just to walk to the end and back is a little bit overboard to me. Doubt if I will... More

It cost $2.00 to out on the pier but it is worth watching and seeing what is being caught. The day I went their were close to 20 sharks swimming around the pier.

This is a very long pier, $2 per person to walk out on it and see all sorts of fish; we saw a couple small shark. A small gift shop and a snack area available as well. Worth the stop.

Very nice facilities at the pier. Included a snack bar, picnic tables under roof on the pier and indoor restrooms. Lovely beach area. We did not fish, but provided ample space for those who did fish from the pier. Great place to see various bird wildlife. They are tame enough to pose for pictures. It is free to park and... More

We visited the fishing pier during our vacation because many of the family enjoy fishing and this was a simple fairly inexpensive way to fish in the gulf (compared to chartering a boat). Our only hang up was the amount of time it took to get a salt water pier fishing license for the state of Alabama before paying the... More

We visit the Alabama gulf coast every year and this is a place that we always go. The pier extends very far out into the ocean and my children love to walk down it and look at the different type of fish that are swimming around. This year we saw sharks, sting rays and a variety of other fish. Be... More

A walk along the 2nd largest pier on the Gulf of Mexico is a sight to see when visiting the area. Better than visiting an aquarium when it comes to seeing sharks in their own habitat, we saw at least 12 within an hour and a half. Schools of fish, sting rays and jelly fish were in an abundance. Talk... More

Great time walking on the pier. Saw several fishermen hook small sharks. Great view of the sunset and shoreline.

We went out on the pier to shoot some pictures and to people watch. My wife was able to see sharks swimming around underneath the pier and there was a Blue Heron on top of the Pavilion just posing for everyone. The breeze felt great and it was a relaxing way to spend our last evening in Gulf Shores!.
