Large sites with lots of flora and fauna. Trails throughout the park are nice. Good laundry facilities. Wish internet available at your campsite, but all other amenities make up for it. The long fishing pier is nice - people fishing but I enjoyed just taking photos.

Whether you're on the beach or walking the trails, Gulf State Park is an outdoor paradise. Nice cabins to rent both lakeside & in the woods. Also campsites for tents & RVs. Plenty of free programs year-round. It's a beautiful area and there are smaller sections along the beach road allowing public access & free parking in several areas.

The bike paths were all paved and the scenery was beautiful. Thank goodness I had brought my camera, we stopped several times to watch the birds and take photos. If you are a person who loves to bike, walk or photograph this is a must. Take the time to check out this State Park it will be worth your time,... More

The camping area is very nice and clean. The beach is a short walk or drive. They have one area that has showers and restrooms and several other areas with just boardwalk, trash cans, and white sand beach.

Slip away to one of our area's greatest treasures our glistening White Sugar Sand beaches! Growing up in Southern California I thought I knew what made a beach great, wow was I wrong! My first trip to Alabama was to visit my Husband who had been sent here by the company to help staff a new plant. Driving in from... More

Loved that this beach (the one by the Pavillion) had full air conditioned showers & restrooms. It made making the 3hr trek home sooo much easier w/o sand everywhere. You may have to wait for one, but being able to wash up in warm water in air conditioning was worth it. They have a small snack area & plenty of... More

The park itself is more than just the beach shore, we got turned around on the other side of the park. There is a nice pier but remember to bring cash as it's not free.

This is a very large park with park protected beaches and one of the largest State Park campgrounds we have seen. The facilities appear to be well maintained. I am a Master Naturalist and photographer, as well as a Nature Center volunteer in our home state. So, the $2 per car entry fee seemed fair (even though ALL State Parks... More

If you want to get away from the crowds and get close to nature, this is the place. They have a great beach and pier which is a fun place to check out the fisherman and their catch. We hiked some of the trails and saw several different birds and we went to the nature center ($2/vehicle to visit the... More

This is our second year using many aspects of the park. We've walked the beaches, which are immaculate. We've walked the pier and met many fishermen and the resident pelicans that look like they love their picture being taken. We've done limited hiking in the serene back-ways. My husband enjoys the golf course that is reasonably priced, staffed by very... More
