First time to visit this park but we were very pleased at the location and all it had to offer for a state park. Water, electric, and sewer availible at each site. Many sites are shaded and have some privacy. Camp store, laundry, and nature center located in park as well as a swimming pool. Beaches and fishing pier are... More

We camped for eight nights at Gulf State Park last week and think this is one of the nicest campgrounds around! We were able to get a site on the lake, which was great as we brought our canoe and were able to put it in the water right at the campsite. We canoed Middle Lake and Lake Shelby a... More

It's a great park, it really is..it sits on an awesome freshwater lake with good fishing..the amenities are terrific and you're a bike ride from the beach.. Here's the problem, you can't reserve specific camp sites..i forget the rules but at certain times of the year you can reserve specific "areas" but not the sites themselves..i kinda get it because... Go first thing in the morning and avoid the crowds. The beaches here are clean and well maintained. Don't forget to bring a towel to sit on, take off your shoes, and take in the sunshine.

My family and I spent spring break tent camping at Gulf State Park. We reserved a primative site and we had a blast. We were within walking distance of the bath house, the pool at the park is awesome and the beach is so close. Would recommend to anyone looking to camp in the Gulf Shores area!

Bring your sunglasses as this is some of the whitest sand you have ever seen. Been awhile since we were last here, but they have done a great job in stopping the beach erosion and have the beach very well maintained. Very clean!! Bring your sun screen!! ENJOY!!

We only spent the afternoon but it looked clean and well maintained. The area where the pool, nature center and gift shop are located is very nice. The campground was nearly full and everything seemed to be taken care of. If I had the opportunity, I would camp there.

We enjoyed all of the open space, even though it was a popular Spring Break week. You'll have fun in the sea and sun.

My kids loved fishing from the pier, great location, big enough for large crowds, there's nothing I didn't like about it!

If you are bored here, it's your own fault. Zip line, water sports, hiking. Or just have a picnic and relax!m
