We were really excited about our first visit to this park. We mapped out a 2 mile hike to do and planned to follow it up with a tour of the caverns. We started out fairly early on a Saturday. As we started, we noticed the trails hadn't been cut in quite awhile. Then the trail markers became sporadic and... More

My husband and I visited these caverns in June 2011. We had been gone a week. During this week we visited providence canyon in GA and Desoto State Park in AL both were beautiful in there own right. However, this cavern blew us away. We love visiting state parks and both agree this was our favorite. If you are ever... More

The caverns are located in a beautiful mountain range that is full of color particularly in the autumn. The cavern tour was wonderful with large chambers and exquisite formations. I'm so glad we visited. More

I can't believe I've lived in AL for nearly 4 years and never visited the caverns until last weekend! We're always looking for fun places to take our out-of-town guests and this has now been added to the top of our list (along with Jack Daniels Distillery)! The entrance is massive and I still have a hard time believing that... More

The State of Alabama's own review says it all - "The first thing you notice about Cathedral Caverns is the massive entrance. The huge opening measures 126 feet wide and 25 feet high. And it gets even better. Inside the cavern, you will find Big Rock Canyon, Mystery River and some of the most beautiful formations Mother Nature has ever... More

This little-known cave is a great excursion if you're in northeast Alabama. Round trip walk is pleasant with no steep passages. Pace is comfortable for everyone. It's probably 1.5 miles total. The cave temperature is in the 60s (F) all year long, so it was especially great for us to get out of the 95 degree summer heat. Guide was... More

It's a great place to visit. Our children always like going. Picnic tables are provided so we like to carry our lunch. I'm not sure if they have any thing for a cafe. They do carry candy and snacks. Recommend. More

Not commercial. The walk in a grand cave is easy and the views are spectacular. More
