My husband and I visited BeachnRiver Kayak Rentals and had a really nice time. He had never kayaked before so was a bit nervous, but once he got a feel for the balance (within a couple of minutes where the water was very shallow) he got very comfortable. We brought snacks and ate our breakfast of pastries and fruit under... More

Bon Secour is rich with history, & a beautiful area. The whole family can do this, no matter their skill level. Beachin' Betty and River Rick are great folks on the Bon Secour and provide you with great information on where you are heading and what to look for. My kayaking adventure was fabulous. My journey down the river was a calming experience with the beautiful scenery and lazy day feeling. Rick & Betty gave great advice since this was my first trip, " if your arms start to hurt, you're working too hard." Now I know why it is called a float, that is just what I did.... More

My cousin and I are in our 50's and had never kayaked before so we approached this adventure with a little trepidation. Not to worry! Betty and Rick were beyond helpful and encouraging and, in fact, the equipment they provide and nature of the river you kayak on meant that we were comfortable in no time. The scenery was beautiful... More

My girlfriend and I went for our dating anniversary and it was absolutely incredible! BeachnBetty and RiverRick (you were right, those names are hard to forget!) were a delightful pair of hosts that made us feel right at home. They are some of the nicest peole we've ever met, for sure. We never kayaked before but with their help we... More

This was the highlight of our trip to Gulf Shores, AL. Betty, one of the owners, was so helpful on the phone when I called to ask questions and make a reservation. Both she and her husband Rick were very accomodating, and gave us tips on what to bring to make the trip more enjoyable. When we arrived, they were... More

Betty and Rick were extremely nice and helpful. The kayaks were in great shape. There is no current to speak of so it was easy paddling, even for the smaller people in our party. We had a mixture of 7 adults and older teenagers. The cool water and shade were a welcome change from the beach. We kayaked, swam and... More

A great trip kayaking on the Bon Secour River. Good value, not hard for beginners and very helpful hosts. The upper part of the river where you launch seems like a jungle overhanging the river with lush foliage and flowers along the way. We were lucky that when we got to the wide part of the river, we met up... More

What a great way to spend time with your family. I have never understood why families go on vacation only to spread out once you reach your destination. Beachin' Betty and River Rick are great host on the Bon Secour and provide you with great information on where you are heading and what to look for. This is a must... More
