It is like taking a walk back in time. Flower baskets hang from the light posts, flower beds ripe with colorful blooms on the street corners, cobblestone sidewalks. The eateries are wonderful and varied. The shops are eclectic and fun. This is the best downtown experience I've had.

I truly love downtown Fairhope. I enjoy just strolling along going from one shop to the next. The shops are unique and the shopkeepers are so nice and helpful. You can tell they know they work in a very special place. There is a great mix of restaurants along with the shops. Everything is clean and there always seems to... More

I needed more time to explore. So many shops & restaurants to see. Also enjoyed the lovely Pier. Stayed there for over an hour just enjoying the pier & walking on the wharf.

I love Fairhope! It's a beautiful little town with quaint shops and fresh flowers planted along the sidewalks. I don't know how a town so small keeps everything so clean and pretty but they do a wonderful job!

I only had the opportunity to spend a few hours in Fairhope but I think I could have spent days visiting all the cute little shops and boutiques! To make the most of your visit, stop by the history museum first and pick up a map of the area with all the shops and restaurants highlighted!

This place reminded me of a number of small artist towns like Eureka Springs, Arkansas, or Pacific Grove, CA. The main street, Fairhope Avenue, is a hotbed of local shops, restaurants, and flowers. The white twinkle lights are left in the trees lining the street year-round. It is very walkable and quaint. The parking is free. If you have an... More

We own a condo on Fairhope Avenue between downtown and the Pier and it is the best location in Fairhope! Fairhope Avenue is a beautiful, multi-purpose street with beautiful flowers year round, shops, restaurants and residential all within a few minutes of each other.

This is a nice place to walk, with a variety of little shops and places to eat. It is close to the water, which for me is a plus. The people are friendly and though much smaller, it reminds me of Asbury Ave in Ocean City, NJ.

We went with friends up to Fairhope to see this town. A beautiful area is Fairhope Avenue, BUT do not go there in February on a Sunday. Almost all the stores were closed. We still enjoyed walking up one side and down the other. The flowers along the sidewalks were beautiful.

A nice downtown with local establishments and good variety. The park is just a couple of blocks away if you have kids that need to get out and exercise. It was just rebuilt about a year ago and is very nice. Pet friendly for leashed pets.
