If you are traveling west definitely try to get this side jaunt in. The price is reasonable and it is only a 35 minute ride that treats you to some nice views of Mobile Bay. The only complaint I have is that it is first come first serve.

This was my first ferry trip and it really wasn't my cup of tea, lol... The ferry itself was very easy. With my truck, 4 adults and 1 child it cost $43.50 for a round trip fare.

While visiting Dauphin Island recently we decided to try the Mobile Bay Ferry that travels between Dauphin Island in Mobile County and Fort Morgan in Baldwin County, Alabama. The traffic was fairly light on the day we rode which was a good thing since I estimate the ferry can carry about 25 automobiles per trip. The signs in the queue... More

The ferry was very efficient and reasonable; $16 for car and driver + $4.50 for each additional passenger. We left from the Ft. Morgan side and if we had gotten to the parking area earlier, we could have just left the car in line and walked over to visit the Fort, about a 5 minute walk. There was no narration... More

We went on the Ferry to go to the Sea Lab. Got to see about 5 dolphins while boarding which was a nice suprise! Saw them more on the Ferry than our Dolphin cruise =) Staff was courteous. The kids enjoyed it, and the view from the observation deck is great! 15.00 for our family round trip, and within walking... More

Our ride across Mobile Bay on the ferry was the highlight of our trip! It was a very smooth ride from start to finish. It was very cool to be out on the water and see the oil rigs up close, as well as the pelicans and other seabirds. The cost was reasonable, and we didn't have to wait at... More

The ferry was an interesting way to cross the bay on a motorcycle trip to Key West. The trip was 35 minutes long and very smooth. We were followed over by sea birds, pelicans, and even saw some dolphins.

Rather than drive up and through Mobile we took the ferry across the bay. It was a nice experience. I don't know of any other way to get that close to oil rigs for most of us.

Great experience. Ferry ran on time both ways, fares are quite reasonable and available on their website. They have a number you can call in the mornings to verify they are running and it was up to date. You definitely should arrive at least 30 minutes early as it can fill up fast. They run an efficient operation and I... More

We opted to "walk-on" the ferry with bikes rather than take a car; cost per person - $5 roundtrip. Neither of us had ever been on a ferry, so it was a fun, new experience. It operated on time and the crew was very efficient about loading/unloading. The ferry offered us an easy way to see not only Fort Gaines,... More
