Small church but nicely ornate. Worth seeing for sure if you're in the area. We missed the views but enjoyed the coolness and the interior.

The church itself is so simplistic you'll have a hard time wondering why all the fuss about it. Go for the beautiful sea views from the garden and mostly the surroundings of the plaza, with a colorful fair , people watching, etc...

To Understand part of Brazilian history we should visit all churches n Recife. It is really enriching to our culture. The overview is awesome and you see a lot of art in the church. It is sad about preservation.

This church is interesting, but very small. If you are driving all the way from Recife to visit this church, you may be surprised that there is really not much to see once you arrive. But the nearby view of the city and charming neighborhoods will make it worth your while.

place is enchanting, but maintanance is the downside - many kids insit on offering their guide service, it could eventually get on your nerves (don't even touch them, you could end up in jail)

There is a bit of a climb up to the church but its definitely worth it! The views are incredible of the whole area. The actual church isn't one of the more spectacular ones of Olinda but is still worth a look and a walk around. Go to the bar in front of the car park for a cold beverage... More

The church itself on the outside is in need of a bit of cleaning to keep it looking nice. It's part of the very easy tour to walk around the different churches in Olinda though so worth passing by. It's further up the hill as well so you get some nice views of Olinda which has some nice greenery and... More

The church itself is not so interesting. It's small and being repaired now, but the view from there is amazing. Beautiful landscape.

A nice view, very pleasant with a lot of small shops around with artcrafts and tipical foods.

A nice old church on the hill of Olinda, with lots of gold plating on the alter and the various frames around the walls. A large stone plaza graces the front entrance. Note that this church has only one steeple, reason being that taxes were only payable to Vatican once the church building was completed.
