Francisco Brennand started out sixty years ago painting, but secretly wanting to do ceramic art. He went to France and saw the works of Picasso which validated that ceramics was a valid art field. . .and he was on his way to creating majestic, imaginative, unique ceramic art. Francisco is still alive. . .my husband saw him well into his... More

When in Recife do not miss this highly interesting and surprising collection of ceramic statues and other works of art. The garden is impressive, do take your time walking about and enjoying it.

The museum is a ceramic factory, placed in a quiet, natural environment. There you will find the masterpieces, such are sculptures and paintings, and even a little church. The place is quite mystic, and if you get luck, you can even speak with Mr. Francisco.

I fully agree with many others reviewers about the quality and beauty of this ceramic sculptures paradise. It is a must in Recife. The problem is that it is situated on the suburbs and in the middle of a forest. It is a 3 km drive among the trees. No not even think of public transportation. You must drive o... More

I love the ceramic art from Francisco Brennand. It all looks very surreal. He's also clearly a very productive artist because the collection displayed here is huge! Some of it is displayed indoors, some of it outdoors, arranged beautifully to fit the nature that surrounds it. I was also positively surprised to see black swans there :D The only way... More

Very interesting ceramic sculptures at an old ceramics factory in the middle of the forest. It's a long trip especially in heavy traffic, but worth the visit.

Brennand has his exhibit in the middle of a garden, with multiple sculptures and inside you see paintings and smaller pieces. Some might be inappropriate to older children as he depicts nudity and fallic pieces, but for adults or very young children ( who couldn't understand )is interesting seeing.

The tour begins with a ride through working class Recife neighborhoods and unremarkable suburbs when suddenly one enters a delightful leafy compound of a beautifully manicured estate that houses a magnificent gallery of ceramic art works! The creativity of this genius quickly overwhelms the senses and boggles the mind. Dullards will see only ceramic sculptures evoking images of human genitalia.... More

It is amazing! A magical place in the heart of an old farm. His (Francisco Brennand) work will let you speechless for a while. Either you hate or love it. The place is very well organized. It has besides the art exhibition (That's huge and amazing) a small restaurant (really really good) and the ceramic fabric. Pieces are expensive but... More
