This is a real community spot. Practising for carnival;local fairs; music and just chilling out. The bandstand is in use on Sundays and the park itself is a nice shady spot to see macaws; chevron parakeets; thrushes; water tyrants and tanagers - not to mention passing marmosets. This park is the place to go to see live, local music. Starting around 3pm on Sundays several local groups meet there to practice their routine for carnaval. We saw a Forro group and two Maracatu groups. Around 4 the Nacao Pernambuco group left the park and walked through the streets playing their music. What an experience! There's also a... More
