Had heard a lot about this beach for quite some time before taking an offbeat drive to this beach. I will be honest, this beach is not for me. Over crowded, not at all clean, and absolutely not a sandy beach to walk along. The only thing good about this beach, is the fresh fishes available in almost all hotels.... More

I am not happy with digha beach. Unlike puri beach you can not go to beach easily with kids.Beach area covered with lots of stone and it's dangerous for kids. Not a recommended beach.

Yes, the view, the overexcited tourists, the infidel men and women, all of this adds up to your entire experience. But then the sea-food isn't that good. At least I've had better sea-food in Orissa and Tamil Nadu. You get cheap as well as costly hotels near the sea-beach. Do avoid going there during national holidays or during the new... More

If you love weekend ... then go Digha ! It's nearly 4-5 hours bus journey from Kolkata. Take bus of SBSTC and head for Digha . There are wavy Bay of Bengal with Jhaau trees on the stony sea beach. If you love fish, then taste them on the beach . Varieties of sea fishes , crab & prawn are... More

After a 5.30 hours journey from Kolkata you will reach New Digha. I visited there at the 2nd weekend of May. It was a rather cloudy day. The sea here is exiting but the beach is dirty and really overcrowded. You can play here with the waves but you cant get a peaceful place to watch the sea. The evenings... More

The Sea beach is firstly muddy. Secondly waves are too small for anybody to enjoy proper Sea-bathing. Thirdly there are treacherous places in the water in which accidents happen every year. Boulders are strewn to arrest encroachment of land by Sea. The entire beach area is strewn with plastic cups, coconut shells, nick nacks and what not ! The place is full... More

The place is overhyped & there's lack of basic amenities for a comfortable travel & stay. I would suggest visiting other places like Balasore or Chandipur beach instead.
