Can't imagine why any one would ever come for a vacation. The hotels are badly staffed n... More

* Good for a weekend tour. * With family, with friends, solo whatever.. you will enjoy. * Better to stay at New Digha for its flat beach and away from the din-bustle of Old Digha. * Must see the Sunrise and return of the fishing boats at the early morning. * Can go for other local places like Shankarpur, Mandarmani,... Very good for couples and families who wants to enjoy water sports..beach foods..crowds..but bad for honeymoon couples..not maintained at all..plastic bottles..carry bag..sleepers..lying everywhere..extremely crowded and noisy..may be the reason is..it is the nearest weekend destination for people around Kolkata and sub urban areas..it takes 4-5 hours from kolkata..direct train available..but once daily..

A nice place for a weekend retreat. Old Digha fish market is a place to visit. U can buy fresh fish at cheaper rate and can have it cooked there itself(shops available for cooking fish, meat like u want).Use necessary skin protection creams before getting into the water(must).

"Digha - the Goa of the East." I'm really impressed by the new tourism initiatives by the West Bengal Government. This is a perfect weekend retreat for the people living in and around Kolkata. I have been here twice since childhood and seen the place change from nothing but a simple town to what it is now. * The beach... More

This is a very good place for weekend trip. Barrister colony sea beach is the most enjoyable sea Bach. Hard & soft both drink is available in this beach. New digha sea beach is also very good.

Its a very good place to visit with friends particularly, not very expensive yet luxurious. The beach is not very clean yet very crowded and full of fun. If you want to go from Kolkata, there is transport available via Bus and Train, bus leaves from Esplanade area and Train from Howrah. Obviously you can also go in car too.... More
