The ambience of Belur Math, on the bank of the Ganga, draws thousands of devotees every day. While the architecture of the math combines facets of all religions, the Ramakrishna Mission order, founded by Swami Vivekananda, has its seat in this oasis of peace near Calcutta. A sense of tranquillity and serenity envelops one in the sacred precincts.

The average place to go to when you require some peace and spiritual guidance. Not much of a tourist attraction.

This is one of those places that forces you to slow down and adjust your pace to a time and way of life long gone. Besides the main temple, the other temples in the campus are worth visiting. One can spend time simply by sitting in the banks of River Ganga.

I spent around 30 minutes, I didn't get the chance to go inside the temple as it was closed. The architecture is beautiful and colorful.
