The Head Quarters of the Ramakrishna Math, established by Swami Vivekananda famous for his Chicago address at the Parliament of Religions. Even today the place resonates with the divine peace beautifully planned and executed on the banks of the Hooghly river.

Here the Great Swami Vivekananda used to pray almighty after getting tips from his Guru, Sri Ramakrishna Thakur, who is to worship in Dakhineswar Kaali Mandir situated very near on the other bank of Ganga. The place is so neat... More

The best time to visit the shrine is after 4 PM IST. The place really peaceful and you would feel an eternal bliss once you enter the shrine. It is amazing. After visiting all the shrine, sit near the Ganga River and relax. There is also a shop within the campus where you can buy some really nice stuffs like... More

It is the headquarters of the Ramakrishna and & Mission. It is situated beside the river Hoogly in Belur. It is a must visit for anyone in Kolkata. Leaving apart the serenity and divinity of the place, the architecture of the temple is delightful.

Nice place for a family visit. Go there by a ferry available generally anywhere along the Hoogly within 4 to 6 km from it. DON'T go by road. Nicely maintained, clean, serene. Try to be present during the prayers. Its worth it. And do not litter. Be considerate.
