The Festival Seasons spans the most ebullient and colorful time of the year spanning the months September through December. Starting with Durga Puja which symbolizes the triumph of righteousness and good over evil, to Diwali the festival of lights welcoming the all conquering Lord Rama after his victory over the demon king Ravana, to Chhath, an ode to the Sun... This was a tour worth every minute of the 3.5 hrs that we spent with Manjit and our group. Take this tour if you want to understand the history, architecture and go back in time, Manjit is the best guide you can ever get. He relives the 200 year old history for you as he takes you to a bygone... More

We were only in Calcutta 2 days and this was definitely the highlight. A bit too early a start for my wife, but once Manjit started his jokes and got us a chai we were fine :) Manjit shares his love of the city in a very imformative and fun way. We did the cultural kaleidasope walk which I'd recommend... More

Manjit is an excellent guide with a true love for what he does and the city of Calcutta. He is engaging and knowledgable, and doubles up as a digital photography expert. My wife and I did the Culture Kaleidoscope tour last month and look forward to doing more of his tours on our future trips to the city. My wife... More

My husband and I have been living in India for over a year now and have been traveling around quite a bit. And this by far was on of the best tours we have been on! We did the Cultural tour and the Fish/Vegetable Market. Both were great and had we been in Kolkata longer, we would have done another... More

In Kolkata for business - spending two early mornings and one evening with Manjit - great way to see the real city.

The European tour is a walk around the colonial areas of Calcutta and it gives a good intro to the history of the place. Manjit is an engaging and interesting guide. There’s not so much photo content to the tour really – and what you can see of many of the decaying buildings is not that photogenic - although as... More

Kolkata, or Calcutta as it was more popularly known, is a living museum. For a photographer, it offers colours, textures and shades of culture and history which are unique to this vibrant city. The real Kolkata is in its narrow and crowded lanes, bustling bazaars and historical buildings - most of which are not part of a regular tourist itinerary.... More
