We spent two 4 hour tours with Manjit. Not only was he knowledgeable and well-known (which is important for gaining local access to sites that otherwise may not be available to tourists) he was a pleasure to spend time with. The pace of the tours was perfect--unrushed and able to address questions. Manjit has a photographer's eye so he is... More

Manjit was fantastic from the very first contact. His replies were prompt, efficient and transparent. I spent in Kolkata 4 days only and I wish I could have more time here as my expirience was such positive and memorable. He provided a perfect planning and everything was organised very well. He's friendly, polite and knows much about his city. Being... More

I will enthusiastically recommend Manjit's tour to anyone and everyone who's genuinely interested in learning about the city, its neighborhoods and its social and political history. The great photo opportunities are wonderful, and they're just a small part of the experience. My recollections of the tour - neighborhoods, places of worship, shops and people - are vivid. All credit to... More

I joined two private tours with Manjit when I visited Kolkata last year and it was an excellent experience. Besides showing me some special photo shooting locations in Calcutta he also taught me a lot about photography. Manjit and his tour are as good as the reviews below say. Even if you don't want to take photos in Calcutta joining... More

The 3 hour tour of European Calcutta was a perfect first morning introduction to its history - brought to life by Manjit's enthusiasm for his city and lively anecdotes - as he said, he seeks to reveal the 'scent beneath the smell' of Calcutta. We were seduced - he brought the colonial past to life, culminating at the church of... More

I have lived in Kolkata for the most part of my life, but have recently moved abroad. I joined Manjit for a 3 and half hour Cultural Kaleidoscope Photo Tour-- a nostalgic trip as a tourist in my own city. Who knew there was a Zoroastrian temple, 2 synagogues, a cathedral, a Hindu temple, a Buddhist temple, a Chinese market,... More

Manjit is an engaging guide to Kolkata. He seems to have good handle on his guests and seems well able to tailor his comments to their interests. We were a mixed group of previous Calcuttaites and our American children. I felt very comfortable going into areas that I otherwise never would have visited. I particularly loved his genuine enthusiasm and... More

I did the Culture Kaleidoscope (http://www.calcuttaphototours.com/tour3.php) photo walk with Manjit. The route and time were very well designed from a photographic perspective. The slightly early start meant that the group got through the walk when there were people on the streets, but not too many people (which would make taking pictures difficult). The time also meant that we managed to... More

Had an amazing time doing a morning and afternoon session with Manjit. He was super professional and friendly, with inside access to the inner streets of Calcutta. It is clear that over the years he has built up relationships with many of the locals who give him friendly access to hidden gems within the city. He also definitely knows his... More

We had the best experience walking round the various cultural districts of Kolkata early in the morning as all was waking up. I have been twice before to Kolkata and have not seen most of what he showed us. Manjit is also a treasure trove of information, has a connection built up over the years with the people in the...
