The whole experience was completely bizarre. As per usual we got ripped off, there is NO entry fee but we still somehow ended up having to pay R100 a person. Someone tagged along with us on the way in after showing is where the entrance was (it is in the middle of a cluster of buildings and slightly tough to... More

This temple is nearest to my home, 15 minute walking distance. But the place is very very chaotic & beware of the Pandas/priests who literally force you to donate/do a puja & that is their way of extracting exorbitant amounts of money. NO need to offer puja through these fake priests. One can easily buy flowers & sweets & offer... More

Great place to visit for Maa Kali blessing. Only thing I did not like was that there was no system in place like Dakshineshwar Kali. People who paid money for pushed in front of you and you have to go back. Apart from that great place to visit.

The temple is peaceful and charming...but BEWARE of the pundits who'll be awaiting to get you the darshan in 51 rupees (that is what they'll say, and end up taking a least 1500 rupees from you). God doesn't ask for money, so there's no point giving him. And they'll offer you sweets of "less" sugar in a 100 rupees more... More

We managed to arrive at the temple before it closed at 2pm. A guide was necessary to show us around otherwise we not have been allowed entry into the temple. Blood stained the floor from the morning's sacrificial goat slaughter and the meat was being portioned for serving to the poor during the temple's closure between 2pm and 4pm. We... More

This famous temple is maintained so poorly that the premises in and around it are unclean and water-soaked. The devotees are are harassed by the touts and priests so badly. The touts and priests disturb the devotees for making a quick darshan instead of waiting in the queue, for which the former needs a fee. Not only that, these money-mongers... More

One of the pathetic experiences - You get all commerce except god here ---- Started & ended with money makers Went with my wife, stood in the queue , reached inside , the priest held me from the back of my neck and literally made me bow down and pay money as "god wanted it" you can well imagine the... On a side street adjacent to the temple is the Baba Loknath free school for the area street kids. So good to see that there are quality programs for these kids. The day we visited, there was a professional dancer coaching them for a classical performance. You can never judge the people by the surroundings. The temple was interesting too.

We went to have a darshan and were utterly disappointed in the visit. The pandas right from the beginning wanted money from having darshan to everything. He lured us to another panda who did 'some' ?pooja and demanded Rs 5000 We were there at 1340 and another panda said as he had helped us with the darshan he should be... More
