It is beautiful place however you need to be careful of the pandits who are goons and try and trouble you for money. Mother's Darshan is the most beautiful thing. Must visit if you go to Kolkotta.

Temple is a shrine or WAT as you call in Thai, Cambodia etc. Goddess Kali is presiding deity of the city Calcutta presently known as Kolkata in Eastern India. Lot of visitors did have bad experience while visiting this temple. The best way to reach this temple is by Metro Rail which goes thro the city from North to south.... More

Great monument and location- definitely takes patience to visit the deity among all the devotees fighting their way in. Unless you decide to visit in super early hours perhaps even then you might find it busy but manageable. And the priest - ignore them. Great view on the riverside and delicious local eatery right outside the temple, if you are... More

The Place is amazing! We were there just before the Kali puja week and we were fortunate to get access right inside the shrine but later it turned out ugly when the pandas turned into goons asking compulsive amount as offering. These guys are not priest but goons they will offer to pray for you but they start to extort... More

She is mother of mother. Mahakali. Three huge eyes, long protruding tongue made of gold and four hands, which all are made of gold too. Two of these hands holding a scimitar and a severed head of the asura king 'Shumbha'. The scimitar signifies Divine Knowledge and the asura (or, human) head signifies human Ego which must be slain by... More

During our visit to Kolkata, we could finally fulfill our dream of 40-years to visit the Ma Kali Temple in Kolkata. You feel really blessed and at peace at this ancient temple. We refused to take any tout or brokers nor a VIP route to enter the temple. We steadfastly stood in queue and entered on our own time. It... More

I love to come this place again and again. I get some spiritual strength when I visit here . though it's not so clean and systematic temple but you will get spiritual strength after touching the Kaali Maa. Those who are coming first time .pls try to avoid Panda otherwise you will be cheated. So best thing is come inside... More

Visited the temple on Sunday evening. Lot of people ready to give you direct entry inside temple in exchange for money. Very dirty outside the temple. So, visit only if it is a must due to personal reasons.

There is nothing to dislike!! you can see her only if she wishes to see you. This is my second visit, the first one,I had a glimpse of her and with all the pandas around it was not worth sharing.Next time around, her blessing to visit her was awesome.Minus all the troublesome people,on a Friday ,had darshan standing near her.Ignore all the pandas,just...
