The tree is truly beautiful and definitely worth the trip out to the botanical gardens. The tree is over 250 years old and it is huge! A must see destination! Highly recommended! Small fee for the use of your camera.

A truly amazing place where Botany comes alive. So different from its Zoological counterpart on the other side of the river! However, innovative maintainance on a sustained basis would go a long way to make the garden more hospitable to the visitors.

I love the space and the banyan tree was definitely worth a visit. Unfortunately it wasn't well attended and the cactus house was closed. It was a little annoying that the entrance attendants took my closed bottled water away making the walk rather uncomfortable. But still a great spot worth visiting.

If you love nature and walking, do spend a few hours in this green heaven admist the chaotic town (Howrah). The place is very dusty and you have to get in a long line. The place is kind of ok only. No such Fuss... This should be the last place you want to go , if u are getting bored.
