we walked the length of this street on our recent visit to Kokata. It is nothing special. An open busy street (part pedestrian) with a variety of fashion shops and fast food outlets. We both enjoy shopping but could not find anything to tempt us here. Don't go out of your way to see this although it is the only... More

Park Street! It's the authentic (if not the only) downtown of Kolkata! Always buzzing with tourists and the locals alike, it's studded with some of the best Raj-era restaurants in India! You can spend hours strolling through the shops or simply stand and stare at the passing sea of cars and people!

Sorry, but that was my impression of Kolkata in general. Would not recommend anyone to visit here. Dirty, crowded, tumbledown.

It's a long, long street with many varied shops and sites along it: I suppose that an equivalent might be Oxford Street in London. From the Asiatic Society Library to the South Park Street Cemetery ( a must visit place) via Oxford Book Store with its excellent cafe ( wide choice of teas), jewellers, furriers, a big Post Office and... Probably the only area with maintained traffic. too chaotic still, expects pimps in dark areas. be cautious while late night walks after 9pm. I took a walk for 3 hrs and covered almost entire park street. Good place for ppl who just wanna enjoy drinks and food. No big club or hangout zones like delhi or gurgaon.

Park Street (officially Mother Teresa Sarani and earlier Burial Ground Road), is a famous thoroughfare in the city of Kolkata (formerly Calcutta), India. The street runs through what was a deer park of Sir Elijah Impey, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court in Calcutta from 1773 to 1789, hence the earlier name. Its latest name was given by Kolkata Municipal... More

Park Street can be called lifeline of Kolkata or entertainment hub of Kolkata. It's a dining street also for Kolkata people and the tourists. There are lots of dining options available on both side of the roads along with hotels, car showrooms, mobile showrooms and many options for shopping also. A complete place to spend your day.

To me it is the most posh area of the city. The hotel Park is located on this street. There are lot of restaurants, outlets of big publication houses are located on this street. Metro is available for transportation. Lot of good hotels on the street and eateries are not a problem on this street.
