One of the best Zoo of India, with a large varieties of animals and birds.... One can take a guide along for a nominal charge.... Well maintained currently.... Entire park is very beautiful.... It even has a lake.... Very beautiful lake...,

The place of the Royal Bengal tiger - tigon ....many more animals. though the zoo and animals look very tired and sick, zoo authority need to take adequate care for maintenance and up keeping of such a wonderful location. Very near to the taj bengal hotel.

Visited in Oct 2014,variety of birds and avian species...Great hangout...takes almost 3hours to explore entire garden.Well maintained animal enclosures and overall park.Bengal tiger enclosure is one of the best attraction.The best part is information displayed outside enclosures.Must to see if you are visiting Kolkata.

July 2011, the zoo was in a terrible state, the animals were suffering a whole array of illnesses, wounds and conditions that were not being given medical treatment. Visiting zoo is fun with so many varieties of animals. Many cages of birds with attractive plumage. Cockatoo, Peacocks, Bodris, Hornbills , spoon bills are there. Kolkata Zoo is near kidderpore or Alipore.It can also be reached from Hotel Taj bengal.This zoo possess many types of species which cannot be seen else where.Very good to pass time with your family.
