The zoological garden has changed a lot for good. It is very clean now. The gardens are nicely maintained. There are a lot of animals. And it was nice to see the new bird cages. They have some awesome macaws, grey parrots, mandarin ducks and peacocks. We were lucky to see the white tiger. Try visiting early in the morning... More

What can you say for a zoo whose staffs do not know the names of the animal in the enclosure that they are standing next to ? Felt really bad for the animals. Live stocks in villages are better mantained. The crowd inside is terribly cheap. Management should really think of increasing the entry fee to filter out these mongrels.... More

They are put in small concrete cages and not natural enclosures. But there has been small improvements. Especially the tiger enclosure has been improved with natural environment and... More

convince, well communicated, in the heart of the city. At the same time place is too small for a zoological garden. Animals are kept as sample pieces, one or two from each species. You can find dear, Tiger and Macao are in large numbers. Can enjoy the big sized and Giant Royal Bengal Tiger here. Also surprisingly the large number... More

Though famous for doing small picnics and student excursion but I think zoo has something more to express and get relished of. Though our Alipore zoo needed to be maintained better and with more care.

A very average maintenance. The place is a old original zoo. The animals not cared for. The facilities for the visitors are also very poor. The toilet facilities and food stalls are poor. Not recommended.

Its a good place for all age groups. Large place. Min 5 hour needed to cover the zoo. Special attraction is the Royal Bengal Tiger . There is no good restaurant but you can carry foods from home . No restriction on outside foods. Tickets are of 20 INR. Recently the Zoo has been modified. So it is now more... More

My partner and I are zoo-lovers, and we always make it a point to visit the zoos of the cities we travel to around the world. This one was the first one I was truly disappointed by, and I wish someone would've convinced me to skip it. There were so many visitors inside the zoo that there was a 10m... More
