The chowrasta had many shopping areas and a little before the chowrasta was the view point from where we could sit and gaze at the kanchenjunga mounatain range.

Chowrastha is at an elevated place in Darjeeling town. To reach here, a walk of 2-2.5 KM is needed through the congested market of old town. After reaching chowrastha, one can see a number of good hotels for boarding, a ridge where tousrist enjoy horse ride, and roads leading to different landmarks of Darjeeling. Nearby to Chowrastha is an old... More

A Mall is the jewel of any Hill Station. Not so for Darjeeling. Chowrasta or the Mall is a total disappointment. Roads are ill maintained, aesthetics is totally absent an encroachment by shops has spoiled the ambiance of the place.

The Chowrasta or the mall area has nothing much to offer except for some shops and eateries. There are much better places to visit on your trip to Darjeeling. Visit only if you wish to buy packaged tea for gifting or visit a couple of old and famous eateries.

no traffic, no vehicle, and most happening place. One need time to spend and most visitors are busy visiting the other places. Few shops here selling good stuff.

This road lacks life. There is not ample street lighting nor any music being played by local musicians.

It's a lovely landmark where you can peacefully observe local people's lifestyle. It's only a few communal areas there where you don't get disturbed by vehicles and car honking sound.

Coming from Kokata, we THOROUGHLY enjoyed finding Chowrasta! pollution free, noise friendly, amazing for people watching. It's great! The market is fantastic too!
