Well made and kept place. Best part is no traffic is allowed. We went in rainly season and it was like moving in the clouds. Big giant TV screen never allows you to feel bored with tangy programmes.

Chowrasta is Beautiful. The best part about this place is there are no vehicles. One can easily walk here and see stores in convenience. The place is very well maintained and you can find a lot of things to buy. This place is the most popular place in Darjeeling. There are small street vendors selling toys, umbrellas and Winter wear.... More

Chowrasta is a popular street in Darjeeling, where both tourists and locals gather to bask in the sun and hang around. Set atop a ridge, this boulevard is lined with an array of shops and restaurants. It is situated at the locus of the Mall Road. Notably, the architecture of this place is symbolic of the Victorian era in the... More

I loved the giant screen where good music was being played. The mountain views, shopping paraphernalia, pigeons, horses and other tourists add to the charm. The best part is no vehicles are allowed making it less polluted. Make sure to sit and enjoy watching this space.

We visited this during our trip to Darjeeling in March 2015. This is the prime shopping area and most happening place in Darjeeling with shops selling woolen items, handicrafts, tea and many reputed eating places. People can sit and walk around having fun. Sometimes the fog comes down from the hill and covers this place.

Don't miss this place. In the morning it is very less crowded and you will get a glimpse of local life. Towards the evening it is more crowded and full of tourists.

Very nice square full of local people, most families, relaxing at sunset. Huge monitor with Indian music and nice view on the Himalayan range. If you prefer shopping, then, you have an excellent bookstore, some tea corners and handicraft boutiques with some antics.... Don't miss it !

Good place to walk around and pass time. Smell of horses and their stools are at times unbearable. Non-smoking area so take some good deep breath. Then the cloud / fog comes from down the hill, the surrounding changes like heaven.

This location is heart of the city. You'll find all the specialties of Darjeeling at one place like Darjeeling Tea, Tibetan woolens, accessories and many more . Also, there is a large stage with a display screen erected near Chowrasta that shows music videos at night. Try to find a hotel near to this location.
