With all kind of animals from herbivourous to lesser carnivorous to carnieverous species, the zoo is one of the best attraction in Darjelling. all animals are well fed and are active. plan this ZOO for your children , else nothing is exciting with this place, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute is better place for adults.

The animals are very well kept. We could spot rarities like a tiger, leopard, bear and red panda. Such a treat to our eyes to these animals roaming around! There is an information board for each of these animals stating their details. Its very educational too. The entry fee of Rs40 is very affordable and ensures easy access to one... More

The one of its kind zoological park is located at the hills where we had to walk as the cars are not allowed to the place (think twice if you have elderly people with you), but you will forget your tiredness when you see plethora of greenery and some rarely seen birds and animals.

The only Negative Point is the Uphill and Downhill Roads inside, which may seem Stiff for some but that is nothing in front of the positives. The... More

This is a zoo plus a mountaineering museum combined together. The zoo is famous for its red panda which can be seen. The best part of the zoo is that there is ample place for the animals to walk around.

Zoos are not normally our thing as we prefer seeing animals in the wild. But, we did not think we would have the opportunity for several of the animals so we went to the zoo. We were pleasantly surprised to find the animals in as natural an environment as they could have, in real forest. The zoo is well maintained... More
