The only attraction is the view of Kanchanjungha, I am sure it would have been awesome. BUT there are lot of show downs- 1. Roads conditions are really bad, the journey is Bone Cracking. 2. Place is highly saught after in Darjeeling, this attracts lot of idiots and hooliguns. 3. No other attraction in between. 4. You need to get... More

If you want to wake up at 3 30am, start at 4, travel 40 mins on horrible roads and let a bunch of idiots (tourists) spoil your day - go to Tiger Hill. We bought tickets for a super deluxe lounge for the best view of the sunrise at Kanchenjunga and if lucky, Mount Everest. The lounge was in a... More

The early morning in February, had to get up and be ready by 3:30AM, the jeep took us to Tiger hills. It was so cold that my wife was literally shivering with chills. Even with warm clothing she couldn't tolerate the cold breeze. We took the VIP enclosure which was a closed enclosure. Hot tea was available even at 4AM.... More

Everyone vists to get the sunrise view over the himalayas and kathmanjunga. Obviously it's pot luck if you get a clear morning, but it's a 45 min jeep ride from darjeeling & well worth the gamble. We left at 4 and arrived in 45mins or so, by which time a number of people were already well positioned. So if you... More

I visited Darjeeling in last January, this year. My friends arranged a jeep ride, at dawn, to Tiger-Hill. We were supposed to arrive to the place not later than 4 am. The road is not that desperate as we saw lots of normal vehicles as well. It was so cold. Local ladies sold coffee, with their big thermos flasks hanging... More

Definitely head to Tiger Hill for early morning viewing of the sunrise on Kenchenjunga. Pay the few rupees it is for a view from the deluxe lounge.

Recommendations Go as early as possible try to leave your hotel maximum by 03:45 Am in the morning beacuse road to tiger hill is... More

You have to be lucky to get a view of some of the main peaks. The road turns off the main road from Ghum, is very steep and not well maintained, one has to be there before sunrise and it has to be a clear morning. I was lucky to view the sudden change in colour of the mountains from... More

We stayed in Central Nirvana 28th August with our family. Tiger Hill is very good. Tiger Hill probably offers the best views of the sunrise, cloudy, sunny mountains shining in all their glory.
