Been going to this mall for years, it never ceases to amuse me, lots of shops where one can find almost anything they want.

As the title suggest its one of the oldest shopping mall in chennai. Try and not to get lost, but worth a visit, you can pick up some wollens if you have to visit the northern part of the country.
Many shops selling "made in India goods". I bought some nice Kashmiri Rugs, which they shipped to my California address. It was not a mall for finding global designer brands, but I thought that was a good thing. Parking cost $0.80
It takes so much time to enter and exit the plaza. Not worth it unless you have a driver to drive you in and out of the plaza.
Chennai gets a new shopping mall every year, leaving old Spencer's looking a little dated.
That said, it's usually pretty busy with locals as the shops here aren't all designer and western in style. You'll find clothing, textiles, shoes, bags, lunch, sweets, medicines and more at half the price compared to other malls.

This mall was one I the best many years back. Poor maintainance has made this place look cheap and dirty. It's like a bazaar in a air conditions mall where many invite you into their shop to buy something. I prefer EA mall to this one.
this was my 3rd vistit to Spencer Plaza so I knew what to expect. Being an European woman traveling alone, I could have felt afraid, but once you know where you are going, and don't let shop keepers invites to bother you and dont' mind saying no thanks million times, then this is your place. This time I went for...
