T-Nagar in Chennai is a place which has to be 'must avoided' if you are a spend thrift and like to do shopping on a shoe string budget. You are in for a treat if you visit Ranganathan Street in T Nagar. There's something for everyone is an absolutely incorrect statement if you are here. I for myself would say... More

You would get anything and everything on this street. Tnagar as a whole has the best shops in Chennai , and almost all the main shops has a branch here. There are many roads with good shops around the Tnagar area. But its too crowded .You cannot even worry about pickpockets because of the huge crowd esp on the Ranganathan... More

If you can manage in crowd and small road than this is the place. You can not enter the road in your car. Best thing is to take the local train and get down at Mambalam Railway station. You can get most of the things you want to purchase,This is one of the best place for marriage shoppers.

t Nagar has been famous as a shopping destination notonly for Chennaites but for lot of visitors to this city. With Gold and textile shops offering various products, it is a must visit place in spite of the various infra related problems like parking etc. Ranganathan street located in this busy area has its own flavour. After 10 AM the... More

The most congested street in chennai. Shops, petty vendors, road side shops, railway station crowds make this place a hell on earth. All shops, hotels, temples are around the street. During festival and holidays no one could walk in the street during peak hours. Lot of rubbish remain un cleared causing health hazards. Further this street is a heaven for... More

Anybody from a western country will be awestruck if they visit this place due to the sheer density of the crowd! Plenty of shopping malls with a variety of goods ranging from textiles, cosmetics, fancy goods, gift items etc., Best place to see and buy a variety of textiles including silk sarees. Foreign tourists are best advised to visit this... More

Beware of pickpockets, no toilets, over crowd at any time of the year. Prices you feel are cheap in this street.

Congested and not planned place. High degree of exploitation of labour. Quality of material not assured. Better to avoid this place if you are new to Chennai. High risk area. Goods I available in less crowded area and shopping is not pleasant.

First time ever in India, and I spent a couple hours in T Nagar today, wandering, watching, shopping. As a place that reinforces my sense - albeit based on a brief experience - of the crazy extremes that is India, I loved T Nagar. Shopping stuff, gee gaws, silks, clothes, toys, jewelry, honking horns, jitneys, street food, the occasional passing... More
