A cleaner quieter alternative to Marina

Elliot's beach is a much quieter and cleaner place than Marina. Less crowd but still you get all the street food and rides that are available in Marina here too.

This beach is nice & windy. It is clean & you can swim- so bring clothes if you want to get wet. It is nice for s stroll. Outside some excellent food joints are available. Try fish fry on the beach-although not recommend for hygiene conscious people.

This is a smaller beach than Marina Beach. It is generally clean after 830am when the morning cleaning crews finish the work Gets dirtier in the evening It is very crowded during weekends and best times to visit are during weekdays and when there is a must or rain... The beach becomes very pleasant and empty There is a broken... More

If you are ok with a crowded beach on a muggy summers evening, then bessy is the place to be....of course the numerous restaurants and cafeterias that have sprung up around this place add to the "charm". Parking is a nightmare so make sure u park anywhere u find a slot in any of the lanes as u approach the... More

This is the best beach in Chennai for strollers and foodies. Nice calm beach with lot of food stalls ( Both restaurants and street food). Parking fees of Rs.20. Try the fish, crab and prawns at the stalls at the stalls opposite to Barista. Safe at night also.

Besant nagar beach is by far the best place to catch up with your buddies on a sunday evening. The sounds of the ocean, sand at your feet, bajjis and groundnuts at arms length, not to forget ice cream stalls present before you can even enter the beach. You can take away a slice of chennai from this experience and... More

This place is one of the comparatively quiet areas when compared to the commotion and hustle bustle and din of the marina beach in Chennai. This place helps you unwind and relax with the cool sea breeze especially after sunset but can be maintained in a much better way than what it is I am sure.
