Besant nagar or Eliiot s beach is a cute beach in Chennai .The Astalakhmi temple and a church is also nearby. A Nice place to unwind with Family n friends .The Kalakshetra is also nearby. For travellers a quicker Beach to get in -get out than the sprawling Marina beach . A must visit for Tourists to Chennai.

Have been a regular here , The whole stretch has been over commercialised now . Wanna be bikers ,haphazard parking and heavy traffic during weekends have now pushed regulars like me to miss this beach . The beach is relatively cleaner than Marina . The food - just be careful where you eat . Not everyone's palate will accept the... More

This is almost like marine drive of Mumbai. Small place You will find people from all age group spending hours here. If one wants to see Chennai higher middle class, then this is the place. You will find retired IAS retired IPS retired Doctors, retired secretaries spending evenings here.

This si a lovely beach in Chennai. Apart from Marina beach in Chennai, this is a beach also known as Eliots beach. The crowd that comes here is a class higher than others. The parking will be overflowing on weekends. There are a lot of restaurants around that place.

This has been our favorite destination since we are couple and till now with my kids. If your are foodie, you can enjoy having fish fry, samosa, corn etc. But you... More

I frequent Elliott's beach in Besant nagar (rather than Marina) for the fact that has been oft repeated in reviews - it is less crowded. BUT, do not go there on friday or saturday evenings. It is crowded! Parking spots can be hard to find and unless you are the kind of person who likes a fairground environment (or people... More

I visited first time this beach thinking it to be a peaceful and clean beach. But seems my luck or maybe the beach was really messed up with thrashes and food everywhere. Shack owners should make a point of having a wash area after eating so that people dont litter tissue papers for wiping their hands. I have literally seen... More

The Elliot's Beach (Besant Nagar Beach) is neither crowded like the Marina beach nor is it lifeless and isolated like the beaches of North Karnataka. It is a reasonably clean beach with plenty of eating and gaming options, specially for kids. There is plenty of parking available and lot of restaurants adjacent to the beach. This is a nice place...
