Smaller and thus more coffee shops an boutiques facing the sea side. Weekends as usual tend to get very crowded, with youngsters and couples. Best time to enjoy is early morning and evening; the ambience here is better than Marina.

A smaller stretch , better and less crowded than the main marina stretch. lesser known that the popular Marina beach. While not as famous as Marina, found it definitely more serene place tucked away from the city center.its much more cleaner with comparatively lesser mass of humanity. Overall a good experience :) Marina is too crowded,

Besant Nagar beach or Elliots beach is a very popular hangout in Chennai. It is packed on all holiday evenings and has a large population going for early morning walks as well. A smaller stretch , better and less crowded than the main marina stretch. Some movies were shot here. You will get buses to besant nagar beach. There are also a number of good restaurants on the road beside the beach with european names but actually owned by families from kerala and all. Overall a good experience :) Marina is too... More

Had been to the Besant Nagar beach in Chennai, lesser known that the popular Marina beach. While not as famous as Marina, found it definitely more serene place tucked away from the city centre. While the sandy stretch is not as vast, its much more cleaner with comparatively lesser mass of humanity. Though understand that the area was badly affected... More

1. Nice place to relax yourself, no matter with family, with friends or alone, you will enjoy the place 2. Should visit only when the sun shuts down or else heat will kill you 3. There are many small places in an around to have different chat items 4. Mostly I see middle and lower middle class coming and enjoying... More
